Happy Pi Day, friends! One of my ex-students who also became a math teacher gave me this Pi Pie Plate several years ago. I treasure it and love to wish friends "Happy Pi Day!" My son-in-law is finishing his math and science degree to teach and he beat me to the punch sending me Pi greetings.
Pi is almost 3.14
Today is 3.14

When I was teaching Foods and Nutrion I used to have my classes make pie on Pi Day.

Hurray for two more geeks or at least one geek and an enabler.LOL
For the last ten years I appliqued and quilted a wallhanging of digits of pi. It was 12 inches tall and over 50 feet long. I collected fabrics for a year that would be appropriate in a pie (apples, cherries, eggs, chickens, etc) I never pointed out the banner and it was hilarious when the light came on for a student while looking at it. Many of those students would memorize it and proudly show off their knowledge. When I retired I gave that banner to the ex-student who had given me the pi plate. I knew it would be well loved by a high school geometry teacher.

My daughter is an engineer and works for Boeing. They make a huge deal out of Pi day- everyone brings in Pie and they have it for lunch.

March 14 is my birthday, so that was how I always remembered pi! It's also Albert Einstein's birthday. I think your pi banner sounds wonderful Smile

On the news last night a school in the northeast Texas area served pizza PIE and apple PIE to anyone who could come in and rattle off any of the numbers. One person got up to over 100 digits! Not being mathematical minded I have trouble remembering the first THREE!

That's a great photo!

Our local children's museum had a pie fight on 3.14 at 1:59 PM. I don't think there will be any shaving cream for sale within a 100 (314?) mile RADIUS for several weeks.
