My block is finally done. I worked on it yesterday while at home because we were having 16 trees cut down in our yard plus some clean up of dead tops and windfalls. I spent most of my time watching them work and taking pictures and just couldn't concentrate on much. I guess I wasn't really in the mood to do all the pieced mini's either. I used the triangles left from the middle, some 4 patches I had from another project and just added interesting fabrics to two sides. I can always change it later if I want to.

Keep calm and carry on

Life is good!!!

Patty, I love your block! The b/w with purple is a great choice! Like you I added some interesting fabric instead of doing all those tiny squares Big Grin

Patty and Susan...your blocks are very pretty...very interesting variety!

I have to say, it didn't even occur to me to do this BOM challenge in blacks and whites. All of your blocks have turned out so dramatic and interesting.

Beautiful blocks...each and every one! Even with the un-sewing y'all have been talking about. Hugs!

Sorry for my AWOL status lately...and my blocks are not even started this month...but my plate runneth over when unexpected tasks.

Spending this weekend helping my niece/nephew paint their newly sheet-rocked basement (2 bedrooms, living room, mud room, laundry room, closets, stairway). Got a coat of primer down yesterday...now need to do 2 coats of paint.

They have their new baby arriving any day now! It's gonna be a girl...and with 3 little boys...we all are just overjoyed for them!

And, since I'm an excellent painter...of walls! just had to volunteer to help out. Her ankles are so swollen...I feel so badly for her too! But she is a great mom and wife...and does not complain...just keeps trudging along. She is an RN and so, she understands what she "really" can do and when to rest up.

Have also been taking time to sew up some baby blankets and cute little dresses...cause her baby shower is next Saturday.

But hope to still get my block completed before next Friday!

Hugs to all!

A new baby - what fun!! Don't envy you all the painting though - UGH!

Loving the B&W blocks as well. Maybe the next time around.

Susan - yours really turned out well.

It's only May and I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing a "show" of all these beauties put together.

You ladies so inspired me I made myself go downstairs and I actually FINISHED this month's block with all the small pieces. I'll take a picture tomorrow when I have more natural light. That makes 2 months that I finished completely Smile One I have to start all over and the others I need to finish up the small pieces. I do a little here and there so I'm guessing those will all come together at about the same time.....in December or so Smile I've decided this one I'm keeping for me.

OK - so I finished the smaller blocks for May - here's the picture (I have to post it, it helps keep me going on this Smile )

I notice one of the HST's is going to need to h ave some fabric repeated in other blocks - no way am I tearing it apart to "remove" the one with the definite red on the bottom.

Thanks for the comments- I am trying to use lots of scraps. A friend dropped by with a bag of her scraps so last night I did the bow ties with her scraps. I am trying to incorporate new colors.

I finished the main block and a couple of the side blocks. Have a little catching up to do on two months of side blocks.

My block is "sage green" not gray, lighting wasn't very good today. Dreary rainy day here.

I am so sorry y'all. Once again, I have failed to do this month's block. Just too much going on right now with trips coming up and other projects. I will probably try to get April, May and June done (with the extra blocks), add them to what I already have and call it a quilt. The remaining 6 mos will most likely be just the main block, and put them together for something else. Obviously, mine will not be whatever "theme" was planned originally, though I am curious as to what that is.
