A while ago someone posted a picture of a quilt using these blocks. I saved the blocks but when I went to get the quilt picture it was gone. It was the weekend the avatars got huge and posts went missing. If you have the picture I'd really appreciate your posting it. thanks a million Ann

Does anyone know if there is a pattern for this quilt? After seeing the pic that Jayardi posted the link to, I really want to make it! Any help that you could give me would be most gratefully appreciated!

Happy Stitching All!

I don't know, but it sures sounds like the title of one our "continuous stories" that we do on the board every once in awhile...

The weekend the avatars got big I saw lightning out the west window. It was a dark and gloomy night with the wind howling up a storm......Suddenly a particularly thunderous clap occured and the brilliantly white light from the lightening that ensued lit up the whole bedroom. i could see everything in the room...the lamps, the rug, the bed....Wait! No quilt on the bed. My heart racing I felt for the covering on it when the room went dark and my fears realized. A quiltnapping had occured! My beautiful hand stitched masterpiece was GONE!!!!!

The masterpiece was gone alright! It was as if it had fallen down a black hole. Something made me turn on the TV to PBS and there on a britcom (or was it Masterpiece Theatre?) was my quilt on Judy Dench's bed!

You ladies are so funny! I think we need a thread to write a quilt mystery piecemeal. One person writes four lines and the next adds to it. Done them with teenagers and they're great.

The quilt is from Succcessful Wcrap Quilts from Rectangles by Judy Turner:
http://www.amazon.com/Successf...ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_6#_

The idea is from the tatami mats that the Japanese use. The length of the rectangle is twice the width (so it's 2 squares). That allows tesselation of a surface.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatami

I've made many quilts using her rectangles. She's got many, many layout ideas. I cut many of my scraps into 2"x3 1/2" rectangles to make scrap quilts.

Nancy,
At least there's a W leading the word. DH kept hearing me talk about scrap quilts but since he's half deaf he missed the letter S on it. He wondered why I'd keep making them. 90%+ of my posting is done on my iPod and I don't type well one fingered. There are some interesting autocorrects too.
