At LQS this morning she had a purse (sent to her as a sample) with a magnet closure...but the top (female) part had a lip on it so when you close you really have to pull up to get it off. Much more secure than the "old" kind. I hav e googled and looked at the sites I know for purse hardware and don't see any...anyone???

Is the closure different from this?

If this is what you are looking for, I'll be happy to send you some. They are 3/4" in diameter.

yes it is different, like a prescription bottle lid, ya know with a lip (it's so easy when you see the thing and so hard to describe). I have the one you posted but this other one would really stay in place.

Here is a link for you that shows some magnetic snaps for purses. Perhaps it's one of these.

Boards won't let me post a direct link.

Check the site Quilting-Warehouse.com

Then look under Handbag Hardware

Scroll down-There is one called Cased Magnet Clasp. Would that be the one you want?

Here is a pic for you.

well now I don't know...will go tomorrow and look again, I thought it looked just like the poke thru ones I now use, pretty sure it had a male and female part (the one @ quilting warehouse says sewn in pocket?). The lip part look right though. Thanks Rose.
