I saw this quilt in a recent issue of McCall's Quilting magazine, and just knew I had to make it for my nephew Ryan as a wedding gift. I have always been intrigued by this block, and the quilt pattern just kept calling to me.

Picked out the fabric on Memorial Day, pieced the top in a week, and quilted it in an afternoon. Took a couple weeks to hand stitch the binding, then stitched the label on during our 4 hour trip to the wedding last Saturday! Yes, I work best under pressure!

My 9 yr old son is one of my biggest fans. He's told me several times that this is his favorite quilt -- likes it even better than the Tiger quilt that I made for him. hmmm.

It's wonderful, so nice and traditional. Are those solids? How large is it?

Thanks ladies.

The quilt is 68 x 88. It is more of a grass green and navy. The green is a checked print and the navy is a very small vine print. These are the wedding colors.

Pattern is in the July/August 2012 issue.

I love Burgoyne Surrounded! I want to make two of them as positive/negative. Pick two colors, make one quilt then reverse the colors for the second quilt.

Beautiful! Burgoyne Surround is on my Bucket List. Did you have a close-up of the quilting. I'm taking examples for the one on my Bucket List.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

Thanks for clarifying the colors.. (tee hee) I was so hoping that there were two colors on it! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me or that the color on my screen was going wonky.

I love this quilt! absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

Isn't it wonderful to know that you CAN DO when needed. You rock!

Oh my goodness, your quilt is beautiful.
Sister Sue and I are making quilts for my sons for Christmas, one is in the works and the other is in the planning stage. I'm really liking this pattern, Have to check out the magazine and see if I can make it. Was it hard? It would be easy to change the pattern Dbl. Irish Chain to this, I like the clean look that it shows. We have a dark blue, cream color and light blue. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous, and well done! And, well done to your son, too, for his excellent taste at a young age.

The quilt is a beauty! I need to post a pic of the wedding quilt I just finished. Thr colors are white, canary yellow and black with a white and yellow swirly pattern. It was 90x90. I got it done in the nick of time-like 3am the day of the wedding-LOL!

indycatcarol here is a close up picture of the back. I did loop de loops and heart leaves. I also wrote the word "love" in several places. I put a heart in the center of each big navy block. You can see the 4 hearts in the lower right hand corner.

Great job. You can call it 'inspiring' because this week I'm piecing a sorta similar quilt pattern named hugs and kisses. I'm now planing on using a thin brown band with a thicker white outer band like yours! The back will be the same brown fabric.
