I tried, I really did try, to get more players this year. Special games, prizes, gift certificates--and while we got a few new players, we lost some of our older players. I begged and pleaded--spent more and more of my own money to make the game more exciting, but to no avail. Listen, sometimes you just have to cut your losses. What do they say about insanity--doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Is it postage? maybe just getting bored of playing? I don't know, but unfortunately this will be my last year of hostessing the game. If someone would like to take it over, I'd be glad to send you any information you will need to make a smooth transition. I appreciate all our players support and perhaps we only need a "timeout" and can revisit this in six months or a year. So, with that in mind, we plan on going out with a BIG bang! We have three more months to play and we will have our special $50 gift card drawing in December. I will also have a $25 gift card for our "Ugly" FQ lottery in November. We all have bow-wows (what was I thinking when I bought that fabrics) in our stash. It's fun to see what you think is a dog and I think is great! Both Mom and I will select four prints and then hone it down to a winner (or loser, if you think that way). So, come and play with us! Last call! This message has been edited. You have been so good to us, KC, coming up with fun games and many incentives. I know that I am thankful for all of the work that you have put into the FQ Lottery. Oh, the uglies . . .

It was a blast last year. I didn't enter this year since employment was up and down. Until I know I have a permanent job, I had to cut back. Hopefully there will be enough interest in a year or 2, since by then hopefully I will have a secure job. For me, it was the acquisition of fabric to send away.... usually I only buy 1/4 yard cuts, so can't even cut FQ from them.

Thanks for all your hard work and time and money and effort in keeping this thing going. You've been GREAT! *********************************** “May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. KC - I have enjoyed my time in the fat quarter lottery. Thank you for all your time and effort to making this swap fun. You did a great job in promoting the swap and I am sad that the turn out was low. Maybe in the future we can try again. Sue

I am sorry to see this end, but I think it just is a victim of time. I found an old listing of the Secret Sister list that had 75 people participating. Think that year there were less than 30. As a species, we just get tired of the same thing. Thank you for hosting this all these years... Chris

Add my thank you's to all the others. Your inventiveness always amazes me. You come up with some really fun swaps as well. I'm sure after a breather this one will get new life!! Until then, hugs and thank you!
