The first package arrived with a beautiful finished quilt. All it will need is a label and can go in the mail.Works great as we have just received a request from a sol ider serving now for 37 more quilts. With this challenge we can move right along with more quilts their way. They are still deeply appreciated.

Just wanted to give a heads up for the new QWL challenge coming up Jan 1,2013 thru March 31,2013. As most of you know about QWL I hope you will be able to answer any questions for the newbie. Our blocks are 12.5 inches in size. If you would like to do a top it should be 56 x 84 inches in size. Any smaller and they do not cover and any larger and they become a problem. Please stay with the sizes requested. You can use any pattern and color of fabrics, but please please use cotton fabric. No Christmas or holiday fabrics please.
Okay ladies what state is next? I sure do hope Missouri can make a good showing in this challenge. Hugs to all, MaggieThis message has been edited. Last edited by: MedeMo,
Great Chlynn. Always appreciated. There are so many working away on tops and finished quilts. It is exciting to see how many blocks make it this way also. Thanks again. Maggie
While looking through a box in my sewing room, I came upon a big bag of sewn parts I'd forgotten about that I can use for blocks! Some are really wild prints, so it will certainly give the so ldi er something to look at other than sand!!!!!

I had all my muslin foundation saquares all washed, ironed and cut and R, W & B strings all ready to sew during my weekend, but after the accident, I will be unable to sew on the machine for at least a week or maybe more per doctor's orders. It will not give me enough time to get the top done and quilted for the deadline.
I will, however, be happy to send you a nice check to help you defray batting or backing costs. Hopefully I can be more active in the next event.
Just send the top, KC...if you happen to get it done. Maggie has quilters to do that part if you can't....I only send blocks! Every bit helps. Hope you're feeling better!

Thanks everybody! I have stash of bold prints I've been wondering why I bought and now I know! I'm an advanced beginner so hopefully my measuring mojo will be with me. I have the spatial intelligence of a kumquat
Sister Sue and I finished our 2 quilt tops and they are almost ready to go in the mail. We think this gold and black quilt was fairly easy to make. Had to resize the picture 3 times before I got them small enough to post. Hopefully it will work this time.
Sure is nice to read the chatter on here. KC I am so sorry for your mishap. I hope you are healing nicely. Just do what you can. I do truely understand. Thanks so much for posting. jessica those tops are wonderful. They will make a much better day for those receiving them. You and Wiley work well together. Sue Stitches so nice to read your post. As some have already posted any amount is helpful and appreciated. We use 24 blocks per top when we put them together here. I am sure the CA gals are glad to have your help from there. Welcome. The ladies here are so helpful and caring. OH!! pattyj and sister sue those tops are so eye catching. Just great. Headielamar your pkg arrived. Thank you so much. They are deeply appreciated. Hugs to all, MaggieThis message has been edited. Last edited by: MedeMo,
The quilts were sent out this morning from the post office, I have the tracking number, but hoping we won't need it. Glad you liked what they looked like. Patty & Sister Sue
I just posted three thank you letters from some that have received the quilts. Now to just see if they will let it post. I hope so. You need to be able to read the love and appreciation they have for those of you working away to cover and comfort them. Hugs, Maggie
KC1930 just wanted to let you know that your ck arrived today by mail. Thank you so very much for helping in the challenge even with your injuried hand. THanks so much. Hugs, Maggie
Hello Wiley, my Teammate! My DH loves this top so much that he's put in an order... laughing! I really like the colors to this one too - very traditional.
Jessica, it is called "Between the Lines" by Mountainpeek Creations. It says it is an intermediate pieced quilt, but I thought it was very easy to make.
Jessic I like the scrappy nine patch and my hubby does also. Will make a great quilt for someone. Thanks to you and Wiley for your efforts. You two work well together. Hugs, Maggie
I'm going through my fabrics that are similar to these so that I can make one for DH!
Yes! I love how the combination of fabrics are coming together! I recommend teaming up with another quilter! We started with 6.5" blocks which is often a size leftover from a previous project. Several quilters here have suggested Warm Wishes as a pattern that easy for a charity quilt... I have that on my list to do for this Challenge.
Incredibly cold temps today... I better get back to quilt-making and warm up!
