pinecone was my "handle" on the CB radio as I was broader at the base than the top. Wink 476 s just my favorite number. When my kids were little they would ask, Mom, how old are you? 476 years old....Mom, how much do you weigh? 476 pounds lol

Mine's easy...Live in Indy-ana Smile Roll Eyes. Middle name Ann but my dear aunts always called me Anny. Wish I'd been more clever--too late for that now.

I tried to answer the other questions and two were pulled for review Confused and never approved.
I live less than a mile from where I grew up on a dairy farm in the country on a wooded acre. We also lived in TX for 2 1/2 yrs in the '80s.

I only read paper books and listen to books on tape or CD. Think one post was pulled for mentioning the current book I'm reading, a Jane Austen classic--P & P, given to me by a friend who was aghast that I'd never read any of them.

Been to Holland, (country my grandmother immigrated from), Belgium, Canada, Mexico and most of the States.

I've had trouble with computer trying to reply to posts, but now it seems to be working.

We live in a subdivision just outside a small town. We lived in a big city for 40 yrs before moving 7 yrs ago. Love being away from the noise and traffic. Our small town is where the TV series The Walking Dead is being filmed.

DH does not fish, hunt or play golf.

DH and I both love to read and have so many books we don't know what to do with them all, lots of paperbacks as well as hardbacks.

I've never been out of the US, DH was in the Navy and served on an aircraft carrier so he was in Japan and Hawaii before it became a state.

I got a Nook for Christmas in 2010 and love it. I still read real books because DD loans me some of hers. She now has a Kindle so we are trying to figure out how we can share from her Kindle to my iPad and vice-versa.

I got a nickname many years ago of Bunny, so I use that with my initials.

To answer all the questions I missed:

Yes, I celebrate Chr*istmas. I decorate all every room in the house including bathrooms. We have at least one party and attend lots of parties, including the ones at ch*urch.

I live in the country just a couple miles from a small town of about 14,000.

I read a lot. Two birthdays ago, my daughters gave me a Kindle and I love it. Instant gratification if a favorite author has a new book out. I don't like quilting or sewing books for the Kindle though. Prefer "real" books for that or a book for the PC for some.

I got my board name because in another online group we were required to use the first 3 or 4 letters of our first or last name and the year of our birth so I just kept it for this board also.

Also, I don't fish although there is a lake and lots of fishermen just up from my house. Also a river at the end of my street that is kept stocked with fish.

I live in the country. 20 minutes to town. Always have and probably always will.

I read but when I read I too get nothing else done until the book is finished. I usually can not put them down. I read the 50 shades triology in two days. I always read books until my DH bought me a new kindle fire for our anniversay in June and I love it. I like it because the screen is lit up and I can read in bed with the lights off and not disturb DH while he is sleeping.

We dont fish but we love eating them. We usually go out for fish because I dont like the way it makes the house smell. WE golf some, DH more than me.

My board name came from searching for an email address while working in a cross stitch/quilt store. Tried sewpiecefully but all those were taken so I added quilt to the front of it and dropped the ly; Then the warm buns is a long story but the short of it was trying to take care of business on a tour bus with no A/C in the lou!

Grew up with two older brothers and one younger sister. only 6 years between the oldest and youngest. Dr told my mom she would never be able to have children so when fate stepped in and gave her the first one, she did not loose any time getting the rest of us here.
We grew up on a dairy farm, raised everything we ate. our grocery buying excursions consisted of coffee, tea, sugar, flour and meal.
I never knew we were poor until I married and DH took me off the farm. We had everything we ever really needed. LOVE AND FAMILY!!!!

Mine is all DH fault Smile When we were dating he would call me "boomer" - no idea why Smile Later, after we were married he would refer to me as "royalty" when I wanted my own way Smile - needed a screen name for an eBay account and the two got stuck together. No one else would have it and I wouldn't have to think of something else....

When I was growing up, we didn't have electronic gadgets to play with. We used our imagination, and we played outside a lot.

My 2nd brother (3 years older than I) nailed 2-3 boards across 2 branches, 2/3 of the way up our magnolia tree. He and I would each put our lunches in a lunchbox, including a thermos of Kool-Aid, and put those, along with a book, in our knapsacks. We would climb up into the tree for the afternoon.

We felt like we could see everything from there, but no one could see us. (magnolia escape ). When Steve grew too old to climb the tree with his little sister, our younger sister was old enough to climb, and she and I would enjoy ourselves.

quilter....because I enjoy quilting Smile

When l was a young girl one of my little cousins couldn't say my name so her mom tired to find a nickname she would say. My aunt named off several different names with no luck. Then she said. "Rainbow" and my cousin yelled, "Rainbow!" And l've been Rainbow ever since. First it was just Rainbow then Aunt Rainbow, now Grandma Rainbow. And, now, even SS introduces me as Rainbow. l like it and l'll answer to it as quickly as l will my "other" name! Smile

I have 7 (well 6, the other is only 6 months old) little darlings that call me Meme. If you ask the oldest DGD, she thinks all I do is quilt. I have a building in our backyard that is now my quilt studio and she calls it Meme's Quilt Place.

Hey Lumpy ~ I'm trying not to flood the board with threads for questions... but if you look on the title, I change the date each time I add a question, so you'll know what date to start looking for the new question Smile I figured it was the only way to not completely take over the whole board... and when my mind starts bouncing, watch out! I could post 100 of them! Big Grin

Oh I live in a City and recently got a Kindle Keyboard. I love actual books and use my library a lot. recently they have started trying to get people to pay for the whole book if anything is wrong in it. I turned in a book that i didn't notice anything wrong with and they wanted $29.00!! Now i must look inside each book i want to take out. frustrating.
so i get on pixel of ink site daily and on amazon to look for free books to read on my Kindle!!
i still get library books for my hubby to read but must check them. I missed a great hole in one page but my hubby found it. i took it back and showed it to them and told them to notate that inside the book and that we did not make the hole. time will tell what they do.....

I'm just now learning how to applique, both for quilts and other projects. And, I am totally intrigued with wool applique and have gotten myself a goodly supply of beautiful wools while up here in Vermont. They are mighty hard to come by down in sunny Florida, as you can imagine. I'm looking forward to working with them.

I have made scrubs for son, although now he can wear jeans and polo shirts in the assisted living where he now works.

Aprons. Son has asked for one with a wider than usual bib. He is a "big ol' boy" and said that the regular aprons are like a chest thong. LOL I just about rolled out of my chair when I read that text! He'll be getting a couple of camo aprons in the next week or so.

Made a little grand daughter dress a couple of weeks ago and hope to make more. Perhaps even some things for the grandsons.

A little bit of machine embroidery.

I also sew up my own flour sack cup towels and most of my napkins.

Let's see if I can catch up -
I live in a semi rural area with five acres about 15 minutes from a major city (it is quite a distance, geographically, but with no traffic, a snap to get there). I raised my kids in the suburbs and if I had to do it over again, no way, no how. I'd head to a small town.

I love, love, love my kindle reader because I like big heavy books and the kindle makes holding them manageable. Plus, I read, constantly, and it is nice to not have stacks of paperbacks on every available surface. I still get regular books for reference and history - that sort of thing.

Penny Quilts - well, I'm Penny and I quilt. So quilts is a verb in that sense. Plus, awhile back I thought about taking in longarming after I retired from paracticing law so I took the name Penny Quilts for a name and, at the time, for my blog in case I ever wanted to have a small longarming business. Which I've now decided to get serious about and that is what I've named the business. Such as it is. Smile

I have tinkered, lately, with trying to make scrub pants and aprons but with two new grandbabies on the way, I will probably put my garment sewing on hold and swing back to more traditional quilts.

• • • Would you believe I actually have a small hand project I do semi-regularly? It's those cute little flowers Tom Russell taught us to do at the PJ Party. I use them for my sachets and actually added them to a small wall hanging. I need to go cut some more circles for the next batch.

I do almost anything with a needle — hence the name. When not quilting, I make cloth doll — not play ones, more artsy ones. I also cross-stitch, crochet (thread not year), and embroider. I also make clothes, home dec stuff (need to start replacing 15-year old curtains), and just about anything else that can be sewn. Oh, and I do actually sew buttons on DH's shirt when they pop off.

Good Job Carol! Maybe we'll get some more players just so they'll get a sachet. Wink
