Welcome to the 2014 dare To be Ugly Challenge!

Nancy... Your fabric was mailed yesterday.. If you want it to be a surprise, do not scroll down to the photo. Smile

Photos of the creations will be due to me by April 15, 2014 so this will give you a little over 2 1/2 more months to make something with the fabric.

You will be able to use any and all other fabrics you wish in your creation but you will not be allowed to use more of the ugly fabric for your creation than the allotted 1/2 yard.

You will be required to use 75% of the ugly fabric and it has to be used in its current condition. You may not dye it to change its looks... You can however, cut it up in to as small of pieces as you wish but I must be able to see it in your creation.

Creations can be anything you want to make.. In the past we have had aprons, quilts, cat beds, purses, dolls..and more... The sky is the limit!

Q, Sure hope that you are feeling better. That fabric doesn't look so very ugly in the picture. But I still haven't thought of what to do with it. By tax day, I will have something finished. Sue hasn't called today, so I'm thinking she is making something with the "Ugly" Smile

It's one of my all time favorite books -- Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. I think the fabric is adorable! Thanks Q!

I sent you back your refunds this morning via Paypal using the email address on the receipt. Let me know when you retrieve it please. Smile

I think this gets all of the refunds done. If you paid via Paypal and your name isn't listed, please let me know.

I think everyone who sent cash or check got their refund with their fabric.... right?

Patty j recognized the fabric right away , along with both her boys, who are now in their 40's. We use to read this book to them all the time and they loved it. I have not decided what I will make with the fabric, but it should be special. Think I will give it to one of my nephews, who knew the fabric at a glance. LOL Sue

I honestly love this; enjoyed the book as a kid and read the book to my children. I have picked some coordinating fabs; think I have a pattern selected; just need to be home long enough to sew.

OK ... I have enough of a vague initial plan to get started. Once I've used up enough of my ugly fabric, I'll plan the next step. Smile I'm off to press a few fabrics and start cutting! Fingers crossed that this will work.

My plan for this fabric is working. Smile I wish I could share a photo, but I'm assuming our hostess prefers that we send them all straight to her before or at the deadline. I'll do my best to behave.

No plan, no cutting-- sore and tired. Tiling, floor laying, etc., haven't even finished my local quilt shops second Saturday block yet.
