Alright, I read the post about sewing being a spectator sport...guilty as charged!! I dragged my machine out, plunked it on the dining room table, LAST Wednesday(!) and that is as far as I got!

I have fabric to make some window treatments for my DD's bedroom. She painted various sizes of circles (with a stencil) in bright, girly colors, all over the walls. I want to put a type of awning treatment at the tops of the windows to add interest but also to conceal the blinds. The fabric we chose is plain pink and I would like to add some sort of trim to jazz it up a bit as the rest of the room is loud. I am not sure how to attach the trim as the rod (U shaped curve) will be in a pocket at the bottom edge of the awning. There won't be a seam to put the trim into and I don't want to stitch through the rod pocket. Hand stitching would be a pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Are you able to sew the trim on the "fold" line of the hem before you turn it for the rod pocket?

Glue the suckers on! Use Aileens O,K, to wash it if you will be machine washing the window topper.
I learned that trick after spending an afternoon sewing, ripping out, and resewing trim to a pillow. Next day someone showed me one with glued on trim DOH!

I've done various things and am not sure I can visualize, but what about magnets (sewn into fabric), velcro, or something else?

For the non-sewers...iron-on stitch-witchery. You can buy it in rolls like tape or by the yard like interfacing. ;0)

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. I don't do well with the iron on adhesive, it always ends up on my iron somehow!! Frown I like the idea of Aileen's glue. I am going to look into that, perhaps talk to someone at my fabric store. I'd love to post some photos when I am done, but I am completely computer illiterate but maybe my DH can help. Roll Eyes

    I really appreciate everyone's input!
