Nancy, I don't know the pattern but can figure out the pieces if you're interested. Seems fairly simple. Just post on here if you'd like some help. I'll get back to you within a day.

Do you remember how big the quilt is? That's all I need.

Can you give us more info about it? Was it a kit? How long ago did you make it (in other words, is it a really old pattern or recent)? Can we see a close up of the "bow" block. Many times someone can just look at a block & come up with how it's constructed.

It's really pretty & I hope someone can help you out with this. This quilting board has TONS of taleted quilters and a few really good sleuths too. Wink

That's a cute three-dimensional effect with the little bow on top of the bigger bow. I hope someone knows about the pattern.

Otay, I didn't have anything else to do, and needed something. Here's what I worked out. This can be a fairly easy pattern using strip piecing. All blocks are worked pretty much the same.

Since it is a baby quilt, it's about 30" x 35", making the blocks 5" finished.

The ribbon block has three parts as shown. You will need:

4 strips of 2 1/2 x WOF for the background
3 strips of 1 1/2 x WOF for ribbon

Sew 1 strip of background fabric to each side of ribbon fabric. Cut into 5 1/2" squares.

I made an assumption with the second block...that the center section has three pieces since it looks as if there is a distinction for making the bow.

You will need:
1 WOF and 1/3 WOF strip x 2 1/2" for the background
2 strips - 2 1/2" x 25" for triangles
1 strip - 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" for the centers
1 strip - 1 1/2" x 25 for ribbon

Block 3 (the border block) is made much the same as Block 2, only no triangles and different fabrics.

Use the same cutting instruction, eliminating the cuts for the triangles.

The Bow block has a lot of assumptions in it. I've only ever made one of these....sooooooo

The block is made the same as Block 1 only using a different background fabric; center section is the same.

You will need:

1 strip - 2 1/2" x 11" for background; cut in half
1 strip - 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" for center
1 rectangle - 2" x 2 1/2" for loop
1 rectangle - 8 1/2 x 20"

Take the 2 x 2/12" piece and sew it lengthwise to make a small tube.

Fold the center strip in half and mark it.

Center the tube over that mark. (Before sewing the center to the other pieces, check to make sure the 'bow' will fit through the loop easily. I added some but the 'bow' is large and may need a bit more than I added for ease.)

I 'assumed' the bow to be about 4" wide. Fold your 8 1/2" x 20" rectangle in half and sew lengthwise, finishing the short edges in which ever manner you prefer. Fold in half with the seam to the back. Insert the tube into the loop by dividing the tube in half for each side.
You can change this part to whatever you feel is best. I jest guessing on this.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

If you have any questions, just post on here and I'll answer it/them.

Thank you, Everyone. Isn't it a cute quilt, though!!!! Imagine it moved out of the baby quilt status and done in in Xmas fabrics. Nice little throw for the holiday.

Nancye: Looking at that bow block some more, there might be another way to do that.

Instead of one long tube for the bow, make a smaller tube of a piece of 6 1/2" x 10". (I've made the bow smaller.)

Sew the rectangle in half lengthwise, starting an inch from the top short edge and ending 1" from the bottom short edge. Turn right side out. With right sides together, sew the two short edges together then slip stitch the opening closed.

Sew another tube from a piece 3" x 10"; sewing the short edges as well and leaving an opening for turning. Fold in half, gather the center some and slip stitch to the bottom of the center loop. (Or if you're brave, lay it between the center and bottom pieces as your sewing the block, making sure your gather it some to match the loop.)

Or, perhaps you remember how you did it the first time.

I agree with TcMay- that pattern was in a quilt magazine either McCalls or American Patchwork as those are the two that I get and it was quite a while ago.

I hope you find the pattern; I'm dying to find out how it was done.
