If anyone can't make it on Thursday, you are welcome to call and come visit on Sat.! I would normally offer to have you over on Friday, but a dear friend died in a car accident over the weekend and her funeral is Friday morning and I'm coordinating the funeral luncheon.

1 day and counting. I'm so excited to meet everyone!!!!

My son's team lost the quarterfinals, so that means we have to get him to South Bend tomorrow for a four day tournament. Once we make our plans, I'll know if Thursday works or not.

Pat, sorry to hear about your friend.

I waited to the last minute to respond, thinking I might be able to make it this year. No such luck.. too much to do.

Have a major garage sale next weekend, downsizing my footprint and trying to get rid of all non-essential items. Wow, what we collect!! Really hope after all this work I can get at least a few cents for items and get this house cleaned out some.

Everyone have a good time at the show and meeting your on-line quilting friends.

Ready for morning to come! We have our directions, phone numbers, addresses... we plan on leaving at around 7 AM so we can get there close to when it opens. I'm very excited to be able to attend and get the chance to see everyone! It's my first time at your home Pat and appreciate that you're doing lunch for us... thank you ahead of time!

Be so good to spend the day with old friends and make new ones.
Safe travels everyone. So glad there's no rain in forecast. I remember one trip I made for this it poured the whole drive up. Hate driving in the pouring rain.

Pat - I am confused - is lunch at 11 or 1? We have to take our son to his 4 day tournament and then head to Columbus. Tonight we are trying to pack and look up directions and figure this out. I have written down your address and phone number. I totally remember your street and the house, but remember we needed to call you last time for directions. This time we have a GPS. If you can tell me what time lunch is, that will help. Thanks

One change- due to an emergency, TerryOH will not be picking people up at the Convention Center, but NOT to worry- my daughter, Erica will pick you all up in her gray Mazda SUV. Rondi has her cell phone number so as soon as you 6 meet up, she'll call Erica who will be there tO bring yOu to my house.

I'll be at my house to wait for others to arrive.

Pat, I'm coming directly to your house. Plan is to be in bed by 0730 for a power nap then drive up, should be there 1130ish as long as that plan holds up. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

So sorry! I know it is about 4 hours from here when we finally get to leave.

Hello friends! We are still here - the coach is missing. He had arranged to pick up our son and others at 7 am, then go to South Bend. he never showed up. He never made it to South Bend. People have been to his house - no car, no one there. So obviously we couldn't go to Columbus today. Hoping the coach is ok and we get to go to Columbus tomorrow. Did you guys have fun?!?!

Pat you probably have figured it out I'm not going to make it due to health issues. I know everyone is had a wonderful time ... maybe next year.

Twostep (Sandy) and Shogun (Ali), you two were missed!!!

I think everyone had a good time- I know I certainly did!!! It was great to meet 3 more quilting "sisters" as well as catching up with the other 8 of us!!

Can hardly wait for next year!!!

We are home and we had a wonderful time!
Thank you Pat! You are such a gracious hostess and lunch was delicious! My friend MK talked the first hour as we drove about how nice it was to meet other quilters and she's in love with your sewing room! Such a good time seeing everyone again and meeting the two new attendees. Such a good feeling to connect with everyone and enjoy ourselves.
The NQA show was amazing.... almost overload with so many beautiful quilts to look at and enjoy. It was my first time attending and I will definitely go back. There were tons of vendors and we totally enjoyed the whole day!
Thanks again Pat for opening your home to us!

malou- Toffee is to die for. It is wonderful. I have to call your quilt shop tomorrow to order a snowman pattern. They had sold out my the time we went back there.

Thanks Malou for the toffee - I have it hidden in the back of the fridge - I'll be portioning it out - maybe make it last till October for our Fall luncheon here at my house!! Hope all of you can come!

DGS is still in hospital but on the mend. He has a staph infection that settled in leg and hip bones. Now getting antibiotics and painkillers AND asking for food (first time in 3 days). He was looking a lot better when I left him. He will be released when he can walk with out a lot of pain.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with the very last minute changes, I really did not want to clean my van. LOL

PS I enjoyed the visit and the kids enjoyed the food. Thanks for the care package.

Ditto for me...It was so much fun to meet everyone, Pat food is delicious, thanks for a fabulous lunch gathering!! I would have liked to fit in the show but work so interferes with fun .. but I'm so glad I drove for lunch. I see a trip to Medina in the future, what snowman pattern? I love snowmen...I was about 40 miles from home when tired set in and I went to bed as soon as i got home...I totally forgot about the toffee, which is sitting by my lunch bag, at home....so unfortunately I have to wait til tomorrow to savor toffee. Thanks again everyone for the fun day!!

Aliquilt The snowman quilt was so cute. Each block was a snowman's face maybe 6. When we went by the first time the booth was so crowded so we said we come back, but when we went back they were all gone. Said she would have 80 today.

The coach is still missing.

We think we might. Try to get to the show today. Will be a quick visit, sadly, but seems like everything is up in the air. Four hours each way. Well, I really want to at least get to the show for a bit. Glad you guys had a really nice time.

The date listed above for next year seems much later, hope we can go.

Glad to see the check-ins that everyone got home okay. I'm happy you found my LQS booth and I'm sure I'll hear about your visits from Karen... isn't she just the nicest lady!

I feel really bummed about yesterday not working out.
I also start full time on Monday through the end of August (have always been contingent) so I was hoping for a nice 4 days before Monday but everything is all mixed up.

We hopped in the car and went to Columbus. That parking garage right across from the convention center was full and so we got lost. I thought to call Pat but remembered the funeral today. We eventually found parking, did a quick stop at the show, then ended up passing Mt Victory on the way home and stopped at an antique store. Having fun but we are now happily on the road home!! Ali

Shogun-so sorry I wasn't available today. I left my house at 7:30 AM for the Church with my roasters and hams and other stuff to set up for the funeral and the family luncheon and got home about 5:30 PM tonight! Really worn out but so grateful I could help the family of this dear quilting friend of mine! The chapel had quilts on display that she made and some that we had quilted along together. That's when I really felt the tears coming!

Pat - sounds like a beautiful service with the quilts there and so glad you could do that for her.
Well, a parent called me and said the coach answered his phone but did not explain. So he is ok but no explanation... The parent wanted to know if we wanted our son taken to south bend and they expected the coach to join this weekend, but I said no until I knew what was going on.

Pat, You're one of the kindest people I know, so no wonder you did so much for your friend's funeral. Seeing the quilts you worked on together, how sad! but how comforting too. Lets get together soon!

What brigal said is so true.
I'm sorry you lost your good quilting friend and what you did for her family doing the funeral meal shows what a sweet, kindhearted person you are. Having the quilts there was a special touch I'm sure meant a lot to many. Hugs for you from me.

shogun, they said at the show, posting them to blogs and any sites was illegal, They wanted you buy the $20 cd of pic if you are going to post.

Don't know if any of you that were at Pat's house in Columbus remember the garden panel I took from her stash? On the stashbusters thread I showed something I made from a little section of it and plan on using more of it.
