quilting a lil twister wreath Sign In/Join

I want to free motion quilt a lil twister wreath that I made, but I'm not sure how I want to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what has worked for them? Or is just quilting in the ditch a better option? It has a lot of seams! Thanks.

I did a little Twister & did figure 8's on each pinwheel. If you start in the center of the twist, you can branch up into each section of the pinwheel & come back to the center, then continue across & back to the center again. It was like FMQ'ing two infinity signs at right angles to each other. I had cut out a segment/petal from template plastic & used a chalk pencil to give me a rough outline to follow on each portion of the pinwheel.

I think I then did a simple scallopy echo/outline quilting around the outer edges. I'd check, but I'm not sure where the quilt is - which drawer it's in!

Thanks, Starry Sky. I like the figure eight idea.

...this is the one from last year, it's 33" and quilted with gold thhread. The background is a slightly off white with gold metallic print, the fabrics all have gold and the border strip has gold .. you'd think it wold be blinding , but it's not Smile

...looks like I need to press it!!! the hanging bow/ribbon has gold zigzag stitching all along the edges to limit fraying as it's not hemmed.
The picture here should give yo an idea of how I quilted it ... already so many straight lines from the seams it didn't a lot .. just some curves to soften it some with all the straight edges and that striped border

Sandy O! made really tiny things, using the twister..I don't care to play with tiny blocks at all, but i would consider using 2" or 3" fabric squares.. to make an ornament of the wreath pattern.

Mine is from last year also.
