I found these prints in the fabrics that belonged to my DDGM. I was wondering how old they might be, so, I thought I ask the smartest people I know. Does anyone have any idea?

Janice

If you didn't know how old you were, would you worry about how old you are?

I could almost bet the right one is 1930's repro. The middle looks like a '50's.

How wide is the one on the right? If it's 40 something I'd bet it was a 30's repro. 30's stuff could be 36". The middle is a 50's or early 60's. No clue about the one on the left. How wide is it?

I'm not sure how wide they are. My sewing room is in the backyard. I'll go out tomorrow and measure them. I know that some of this fabric was from my great grandmother's stash so it's possible some could be 30's and not reproductions.

That's really impressive if it is. It is so pretty and clean looking. Doesn't seem like it could be that old but things lasted longer back then. Not like today. Use it once and throw it away.

The one on the left is thicker. It feels like the old dishtowels. The one in the center is thin. If you look closer you can see the design showing through. The third one feels like a good cotton fabric.

Hi, I agree the middle one is 50's, DM had a similar pattern in "cafe" curtains in the kitchen.

She still uses those curtains, she washed them and cut them and hemmed them for dish towels--they are great--no lint so you get sparkling glassware. Yes, DM is 91 and a product of the 30's. My DS and I love them for glassware.

From the colors in the left one, I would also guess 50's, aqua and turquoise were big then--that is my era.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane, take care, Karen T

I measured them all today and they all measure 36" selvedge to selvedge. There's two yards of #3, a little over a yard of #1 and there was over two yards of #2.

There were several others in the boxes. I'll have to dig a little deeper and see what all I have.
