I am so excited. I have been looking and each time I would go into my local Sewing store I would look at them and drool. IMHO, I have one of the best sewing centers. The owners, husb and wife, are the best.
I was given an immediate lesson, as they were not busy.I was shown how to thread, advice on fabrics, thread and I have my first official lesson next week. I bought a Babylock "Imagine"
It is a self threader. Love it.
I just had to tell someone.

I agree, it is so worth it to have local people to help with your machine isn't it.
Thanks for sharing with us.

YAY! I have the Wave-and I just got the package with bag of feet you can get. Take a Margaret Tully class when she comes to your area. You'll be amazed what you can do with that thing! Even quilt. She put zippers in, while we watched. She's from Babylock./

Congratulatiions on your new toy, Bree. I bought one of those a couple of years ago and really like it. Not only are the loopers self threading but the needle threader works well too. And you just about never have to mess with the tensions because of the way the thread is fed. Big Grin

Ladies,
I am going to make some of the knit shirts for the grands, will be taking a class to use it for quilting and also I have been watching Martha Pullen and they use it for some heirloom sewing. I can do a rolled hm for some of the doll clothes and kids clothes I make.
I had been in a mini slump when it comes to sewing, but I am getting my groove back (smile) and this has helped a lot.
Auntie Reba, my machine came with 6 feet, 10 spools of thread, plus the 4 that was provided on the machine itself and a workbook.Plus a coupon for a $50.00 rebate.
I will be on the lookout for Margaret Tully. Thanks for the info. Going to go sew.
I am really, really excited. WOO-HOO

Wow, the self threader for the loopers sounds wonderful. I never use my machine. It is just to much work to try to thread it.

Congratulations! I bought that one several months ago but still haven't put it through its paces Frown I bought it because of the special threading - meaning, I didn't have to mess with it Smile Hoping to play with it the week of Thanksgiving if I get caught up here.

Thanks for the explanation. I have heard about sergers, but I really didn't know what to do with them. I'm still a little fuzzy, but I do know they finish edges.

Have fun with yours!

How fun! I love my serger. Mine is NOT self-threading so I tie the new color of thread onto the ends of the old color, adjust the tension to zero and pull the new threads through the machine. Works great! The last time I used mine I was making belly dance costumes with lots and lots of gathered ruffles. It's wonderful for making those gathers and keeping fancy silks from raveling.

Congratulation!!!! Of course you had to share with us. That is the serger I have and you will love it.
What I like even more than the self threading is the automatic tension. Those two things together make it so easy to use.
Have fun... Chris

YES YES!!! Congratulations!!!! YOu are going to love that machine. As Chris said, it is so easy to use. I have the Evolve Wave and I just love it. I am also lucky here to have such a good store to go to for help. I got free lessons with mine and they are so willing to help anytime it is needed. I go to B-Sew Inn in Springfield. And to take a Margaret Tulle class if possible. I just had so much fun when I took her class.
Good luck and enjoy all your future sewing and serging. Maggie
