This is the challenge fabric for the COF 2013, I need all the help I can get as to suggestions, we have 1/4 yard of the fabric, we must use 70% in the project which must be shown on the main surface, no hidding it as a liner or backing, the end result does not have to be quilt related, anything goes. Whether or not you are coming to the COF in June, what are your thoughts/suggestions - the field is open

How about a Dresdan Plate and fussy cut your wedges out so that the words are in the wedges.

That could work its way into an interesting tote bag or machine cover or apron, or even go on the front of note cards...

Like StarrySky, I first thought of a tote bag or purse. Apron or machine cover would be great too. Or how about placemats or a table runner.

An animal that looks like it has been autographed with the use of the words.

I have a Teddy bear pattern from Eleanor Burns I could offer up as a suggestion. But, I see a wonderful opportunity there with all those words and squares, think applique???

wiley - after retreat I'd be happy to send you some if I have any leftover.

Remember EBGQ - No one is to know what you (or anyone else) decides to do with her fabric!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I'm looking for something to do with mine too!

Whatever you choose I would suggest you fussy cut. Love that fabric and wish I had some like it.I like the idea of a sewing machine cover or a tote.

Looks like it was called "Bits & Bobbins" by Jenni Calo for Connecting Threads, but I can't find it on their website. Is it older or still available? Confused

I thought this abt what project to do next. See that's my dilemma -- Hoffman, etc. I looked at that fabric and thought, I have THAT. Oh, it's the COF fabric. I've also been wondering what to make with it.
Some great ideas. Thanks everyone.
Lori, I can't resist but mine will have a front, batting and a backing. There might be squares and rectangles but it could be circles. Umm, guess I really don't know

I was just thinking about an ironing board cover, practical and you get to see the fabric all the time, would have to add extra coordinating fabric but that's ok

One of those triangle thread catchers where you sew up the sides a bit. Whatever you decide, keep it under your hat!! The big reveal will be at the COF and you will be amazed at the creativity.

Hi, How about making a cover for a binder for quilt patterns/ notes. We made one that had come from Thimbleberries. You can add a pocket for a pen or pencil. I'm sorry but I no longer have the pattern and I don't remember what year it was from. It was a project sheet from maybe 2008 or so.

Love that fabric! I'd love to find some of it myself- bummer!

My first thought was definitely a tote bag- maybe something that you could take to class with you. If you're going to put in pockets, you could put in several- make each one a complimentary color to one of the words. No two pockets the same. I also love the idea of a binder cover! Can hardly wait to see what you come up with!

Happy Stitching All!

whatever you make has to use at least 70% of the 1/4 yard of fabric, I guess the binder could go into the tote
