Thanks so much for all of the wishes. I may have to put that cake in the refrigerator for tomorrow — I'm kinda full.
Our doll club went on a field trip today — a craft "junk yard" called the Texas Art Asylum. It's literally one of those "one person's trash is another's treasure" kind of place. Lots of weird stuff, but some great finds too. I got some vintage lace that no one else had found yet, some stencils that I want to play with, a few little things I can use for doll props, and the find of the day — a small upholstered chair that a doll will sit in beautifully. It was $5, so it had to come home with me.
Then we went to a new restaurant that is really close to the convention center (checking it out for the quilt show in November and ball games for me). The NBA All-Star game is in town this weekend, so the parking lot for the "jam session" was across from the restaurant. They had police canine units out there checking all of the cars, and they were a bit mystified by all of these sweet little old ladies coming through.
I worked on a comfort quilt, picked out some fabric for a couple of dresses (I need to sew up some of this stuff around here, and dresses that take 5-6 yards will use a lot of fabric in a hurry), then DH took me to Half Price Books and dinner at an Italian restaurant. So, I had a great day.

Hey, y'all, belated wishes are just as good. It's nice to see my birthday "continuing" into this morning. Works for me! And, it's a long weekend, so I get to enjoy more time to myself — a wonderful gift in my book.
