That's my thought, but I am heading to Joann's on Sunday for floss, Kona and some other thigns for other UFOs, so if someone has a better suggestion, that is why I asked now Smile

OK Goofy question ....
Should all the blocks be one heart design or a different design for each block ?

Does that make sense ??

Your blocks should all be one heart design. It made perfect sense to me! LOL (See below - I changed my mind - it is up to you - do them all the same or all different).

I have a washable blue pencil that I'm using, and also have white if i need it. Just to make everything easier for me, I drew out larger blocks on the black Kona and will do all the blocks before I cut them out at the proper size. That should mean less frayed edges.

Oh, no! You KNOW I have a very low boredom threshold. All blocks the same? I already have 3 different ones done. How about if I do 3-4 different designs?

Now that I think about it some more I will retract that - you can do them all the same or do them all different - it is up to you.

I have one done, yay!

I did my tracing the old fashion way, colored on the back of my design and then traced the top of it because I couldn't find where I put my tracing paper. It transferred enough, I just went over the lines with my white tracing pen.

I am going to keep the sign ups for this swap open until tomorrow. If we don't get anymore takers I will even out the two groups. At this point it looks like you will only be doing 7 blocks each. Once the sign ups are closed I will pm everyone the final count.

Sounds good to me either way. If you need someone to change colors, let me know I have not started the stitching yet.

Just thinking, tho probably won't sign up, due to other projects. Any guidelines on number of strands? and can it vary 2-4? Also, floss to be consistent color? or different shades on one block? My friend does her embroidery with a back stitch; I somehow expect these are to be the traditional method. Thanks for the clarification.

gemsq - no guidelines on number of strands. Normally I use one stand for lines I want to be light and two stands for heavier lines, but it is up to the stitcher. The only guideline on floss color is it needs to be within the color you picked; meaning if you picked purple you could do a light lilac or a dark plum, even a variegated purple if you want. I also have not given any guidelines on which stitches to use, so that to is up to the stitcher. Let your creativity flow!! We would love to have you join us.

I can't change colors 'cause I already have 4 blue blocks done.

Also, if no one else signs up for group #2, I'd be willing to take orange in that group.

OK. Orange in group #2.

Thanks to everyone who posted sample heart blocks. I am so NOT artistic... (even my stick figures don't look like sticks! LOL) but can copy a simple design OK. I'm using most of the designs posted above plus a few more I found online. Merci beaucoup!

If anyone makes an original design for these hearts they'd like me to steal, please feel free to post it. I will definitely steal it!
