I made an adorable dress for my dd about 10 years ago w/ MLP fabric. I don't think I have any of that in my stash but I'll look and if I do then I will PM you. I have LOTS of Barbie fabric though Wink

If I still have the dress, would she like to have it?

ach - nevermind. I do have the Barbie fabric but the MLP is gone. I went up into the attic and looked but found no dress either. I might have given it to some other little girl...

To clarify, my DD is 20 and there is quite a fan following of the new my little pony show. Seems a lot of teens and college age people like the stuffed animals, etc. my DD is one of them. She loves stuffed animals and likes this show Smile
I am hoping to sew her something if I can find a little fabric or a sheet. Thanks!!

LOL - I guess she probably wouldn't fit into the dress even if I did have it!

I have found the My Little Pony fabric I have and it is yours if you will PM me your address. It should be enough to make a small pillow or something for the stocking.

Shogun, I think your daughter likes My Little Brony from South Park. It seems to be a thing with late teens, early twenties. They look like My Little Pony only older and more sophisticated. I found this out from a little article about T-shirts from Wal-mart that say My Little Brony but have a picture of My Little Pony, the young people complained about having the wrong picture. Do a search and you can see the difference.

She likes the actual My Little Pony stuff - I have heard of the Brony stuff, but she watches the cartoon and collects the little figurines, she told me they are named Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. I will check with her, but she was pretty specific when she described it to me and sent pics/links of what she was talking about.

I appreciate it! I will ask her, but I know there is a HUGE teen/young adult following of MLP stuff, and they all look cutesy to me. She sent me links and it looks like the characters on the fabrics and in cartoons. She collects the little figures they sell at Walmart, etc. So I am thinking it is correct, but I will check. Thanks for letting me know.

Allow me to explain this new generation of cartoon loving adults.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a recreation of the My Little Pony world by a woman named Lauren Faust, also the creator of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Faust has created a very likable cast in this show by forgoing the usual one dimensional personalities and "a valuable lesson is learned" approach.

While MLP: FIM is certainly still marketed towards children with valuable lessons on how friendship is important, it gives older audiences (like the parents of these children) something to enjoy as well. There are pop culture references, in-depth humor, and detailed personalities that keep older audiences captivated.

Thanks to paranoid and misinformed parents on the internet, there has been a lot of negative and downright false information spread about the "Brony" world.

The term "Brony" is a term used to described a grown man who enjoys the show. Some women call themselves "Pegasistas." These people are grown men and women in college, in the work place, and just as normal as the rest of the world. There is no perversion attached to this group.

Some information has been spread that people who call themselves Bronies are pedophiles or sickos. And while I am sure there is a very small number of people who have a more twisted enjoyment from the show, that is not the norm and is rejected by everyone else. It's the same as anyone liking Betty Boop, Star Wars, Dr. Who, or any other show. There are always people who point and mock, but it's harmless good fun.

It may seem like a leap off the Crazy Bridge, but I recommend asking your daughter to show you a few episodes. I'm sure it would thrill her to think she has the chance of "converting" you and it will help you understand why she loves it so much. It's really not like the ponies the kids from the 80's and 90's grew up with.

Yes, I am one of "those people." Haha. I'm not as intense as your DD, but I can definitely help you understand her love for it.

Yes, she has been educating me on the MLP world. She enjoys showing me anything related to it. She is collecting the little figures (obvious difference between the babyish ones and the more adult ones), plays me the music, shows me episodes. She loves the blankets I made her and I have purchased her some little collectibles. All the MLP stuff on etsy or elsewhere is VERY expensive. She goes to conventions, too, where people dress up. You should PM me Smile
