I am hosting a new mugrug swap. what is a mugrug? a mugrug is bigger than a coaster, much smaller than a placemat, big enough for a cup and a treat. here is a link to get u started. lots of tutorials if u scroll on down. mine usually measure 6 x 9", give or take

www.twomoreseconds.com/p/mug-rug-madness.html
http://pinterest.com/wandans/mug-rugs-luv-em/

here are the details:

Theme: Design a mugrug around your partner's first name's initial - the initial would be the swappers real first name or maybe you would like to do a monogram-type thing. you can do a decorative letter "M". you could cut out an M from Marigold or Muffin fabric. you have to put your thinking cap on for this swap.

The smallest Cross in the corner is the one you put in the room.

I hope all our daily ups and downs are with needle and thread.

What a great idea....I wonder what theme you would come up with for January. I think I'll just do a couple of those as Christmas gifts and then we shall see.

Don't sign me up yet but I have a question. So are you saying if our swap partner's name begins with a "D" we would design a mug rug with something that begins with "D"...like a dog theme mug rug? Am I understanding that right? Is it sort of like an alphabet quilt? Also, is the initial the board name or her real name?

Don't sign me up yet, I have to think about this one a little. I will be out of town the first of Jan. I first thought you meant the first initial of my DH, which is W. I was thinking whale, wagon, worm, wheel. But now I see, you have to have partners assigned before you get an initial (giggle).

Wow, that got there fast! Glad you like it. That first side you showed is really meant to be the back - all the scraps I had with things starting in E. Wish I had chosen a different color thread for embroidering your name. Doesn't show up so well in the photo. Anyway, thanks again for mine. I love the colors you used, My carpet and throw pillows in the livingroom are burgundy, so it fits in great. Thanks!
