July 4 I got to do a little sewing. I have to make a new fleece blanket for my grandson. He was standing in my sewing room watching me. He says "Grandma I know you love me." I asked how he knew and he replied "Cause you are making me a blanket"

The new blanket got on my to do list when he was in the hospital and his mother brought his blanket (ultra cuddle fleece footballs with satin binding that matched the footballs). After he was feeling better and was bundled up he looks at me and said "Grandma my blanket is getting too small" The blanket is 60" X 72" and he is only 63" tall - he should have 9" to spare.

So I went shopping and got him Bengals fleece 3 yds (9 ft). I told him if he outgrows this one he better be making millions in the NBA! No satin binding on this one because he wanted orange and black, I found stripes in the Halloween section called Halloween Zebra.

He was trying to help (he is 13) and threaded my machine per my instructions. Well, the tension was off so I adjusted it and it still was off. So I did the all purpose fix and rethreaded it. Grandson's eyes got real big because it took him several minutes and I did it in about 2 seconds. We had a good laugh because he said his other grandma could not do it that fast. Now the tension is better.

What a sweet, sweet story. Not only does his Grandma love him but he loves his Grandmas too. Cherish those moments!

How sweet.

My grandchildren have gotten under my skin so much! And they aren't from my own child! My 2 step's children are MY grandchildren.
