I have 1 layer cake, 2 charm packs and 1 jelly roll for these...

Any pattern suggestions for a quilt?

I have never used precuts before and want to best utilize these fabrics. Great cheap find! Gotta love garage sales for $10.00!

....Pinky - do a 1600 .. but cut the charmsin half or quarters, and insert them randomly between strips, changing the color flow of course, the big ones can be used for border .. cut in half and mixed with solids, or make a band of them on the top and bottom of the quilt ... I have soemthing adultish girly that would make a good backing .. let me know

Oooh, Libby, thanks for sharing that link. What a great, simple pattern for using a layer cake! I'm going to have to try that one.

The Double Slice Layer Cake is very easy to do, BUT be careful how many layers you put together to cut at one time. They can shift and you'll wind up with wonky pieces. AMHIK. And using one of the rotating cutting boards is perfect because you don't have to touch the fabric much, so there's less chance of movement.
