Sew & Tell is our weekly sharing thread. Tell us what you've finished, what you're working on- we'll cheer you on!

Brrr, cold here in NJ! We've already had Thanksmas with my DD and DSIL from Seattle, who were here for Thanksgiving. She loved the tablerunner I made her. Now I have to finish the ones for my other two DD's before we celebrate Xmas on the weekend before the real holiday.

So who's frantically sewing?

Holly

Well, I FINALLY got something done.. 3 wall hangings for my friend and two daughters in law. Maybe now I will get back into the swing of things.. doing these was like slogging through moleasses in winter.

I love Stormin' Norman Jessicasews - great fabric choices!

NYLady - how big are your yo-yos? That is such a cute idea, I'd like to give them a try.

I finished this table topper which will be a belated birthday gift for my Mom. The pattern is "Grandma's Attic" by This & That and I used a charm pack to make it. It's UFO #12 for me this fall.

Yo yos started out as 4 1/2" circles.. Making them was the easy part.. couching the pearl garland and attaching the sequins was the hardest. .thanks for the nice comments.

Wow, all that stitching going on!! I am so ready to get back to my machine. Still a few more days before I'll be home, though.

Meanwhile, I've added a bit to my stash (just like I needed to do that). Got to take advantage of all those new LQS when you're traveling.

All I can say ladies id WONDERFUL!
I finished the baby quilt and my machine gave me some problems in spite of the walking foot and it is a little crooked right down the middle but i don't have time to remake it so I sent it any way. I have DH's quilt top ready to pin the the quilting machine and am trying to get caught up on my BOM blocks then have to concentrate on QWL. I have lots of blocks to put together for than and hope to be able to quilt at least some of them depending on the time factor.

Great items this week.

Handy Ann, you have my favorite Christmas candy in your basket. Have one thru 2 packages already. They are like popcorn, once I start eating them, it is half a bag gone... Chris

Handie Ann, you're so clever to put candy in those little fabric baskets. I made a couple of them earlier in the year as a snippet holder. Can't imagine making that many! Nice idea!

Surfing the web I discovered a cute tiny Chrstmas tree in a china tea cup sitting on a saucer. Inspired I ran to the store but didn't find any cups I liked. So instead I decorated a small tree in pink bulbs, tiny roses, and glittery icicles, tied fabric on the base and set it on a cake platter. I got a pink and gold poinsettia mat last year in a swap and used it under the platter. Now at least I have a decorated bathroom. No tree up anywhere else in the house.

Anael, is your center design a panel or is it machine embroidery? Really cute!

Wow...lots of candy bowls, Handie Ann!

All of the projects are fantastic. I wanted to sew today, but I've been visiting my grandson!

Amiko, I got the pattern from this MB. Paus4quilts posted it Nov. 20 She used a 10.5 inch squares. I made one with the 10.5 inch squares but though that it was to big for what I wanted to use it for, so I used a 8.5 inch squares and than only sewed the sides up 2 inches and in 3/4 of an inch. They still would hold almost a full bag of candy. I told my SIL's that they could take the candy bowls home with them and they did all of them. Plus any and all the candy that was in them.LOL They were a big hit at the family dinner.

Earlier this week I finished quilting & bound a chemo/comfort quilt for a woman at work. I've shown the top before. I bound it in lavender which is the color for cancer awareness in general (she has lung & brain & those colors were gray & white...not very cheerful colors)

I'm making a set of eight placemats that were on the cover of Quilter's World Dec issue. Making them in nine different batiks in shades of blues/violets/greens - picked up a set of pre-made dinner napkins in navy to match as a Christmas gift for DD#2. Have no camera so you'll have to check out the magazine cover - Sorry. Good job everyone - lovely projects.

LOL A friend told me no wonder I never had but one child. Wink

A baby doll for DGD for her January birthday. I haven't made in a doll in probably 25 years so am giving myself plenty of room in case I have to do a re-do...already had to do another set of eyes and cut another leg...

When DS was born, I became a SAHM. Cabbage Patch kids were the craze for Christmas 1984. I found a good pattern and don't know how many "babies" I made to order. I have a photo somewhere of DS crawling surrounded by body parts.
