I need help with binding... Sign In/Join

I am in the middle of repairing a dog chewed flannel quilt and I need to add a new section of binding - what would be a good way to do this without having a lot of bulk?

Normally... if I can I put new binding right over the old in a repair or full replacement ...but with flannel there will be bulk no matter what you so I'm not sure...

Can you unstitch the old binding back about a foot or two on each end of the section to be replaced? Then just add the new section on both ends like you do when you are finishing an original binding. That should cut down on the bulk.

I was going to make the same suggestion that quilting wifey made. Good luck with this repair.
