****After much thought and looking at the finished quilt top I have decided what I will name this quilt "Blue Light Special". I thought about the old K-mart blue light special events and each block is "special" in that it contains different stash blocks. Thanks to all for the great suggestions and comments.

Last fall I came across this blog:
http://imagingermonkey.blogspo...vomit-aka-quilt.html

I thought to myself . . .you can do this. AND I did, here is a pic of the quilt top I put together.
I worked on it during the college football season , NFL season, etc.
It is the smaller version 5 blocks by 5 blocks, finished size 70 x 70 inches. Each block has 49 scrap squares (2.5 inch) thus a total of 1,225 scrap squares! Used up quite a bit of my stash and even traded so there would be very few duplicates.

I set up a system, I layed out 49 different squares for each block then used recycled business envelopes we get in the mail to put them in. I made envelope block "pouches", I would pick up a pouch and know I could sew up a block. This went fast and was surprised how quick a block went together.

I am looking for a different name for my quilt, VOMIT just does not roll right, any suggestions?

A friend who just purchased a quilting unit has volunteered to quilt it for me for the practice! What a deal huh!

No the "V" word is not right for this!!! This is adorable. It's a scrappy! I love it!!! "Days of Our Lives" comes to mind...hahahaha!

Your quilt reminds me of the Trip Around the World. Going with your theme word (Vomit) what about something like 'Dramamine', the cure for motion sickness! What better than a quilt to make you feel good?!

Nice quilt, by the way! Big Grin

Very clever, WQFC!!! I'll have to have you help me name my quilts...I can never think of anything good.
Before I saw your terrific project, texana, I expected to see something like the Lego quilts. Tho scrappy, yours has less randomness (is that a word?)

I really like it. It reminds me of the beaded trim on a native American maiden's dress. If someone knows the name of that, I think that should be the name of it.

Nancy's idea of "Days of Our Lives", sparked my brain and I was thinking of something like "Blast from My Scraps Past".

Whatever you decide, you did a great job using up lots of little squares!

This quilt top turned out lovely. To add to TcMay's name suggestion, why not call it Half Time Squares?

Ooooh, Texana!!! Big Grin

I just finished Kimstrut's link to the 100 charm quilt which used 1824 two inch squares from my stash! Eek

It would really be a help to start using some more of my 2-1/2" squares in my stash and since this uses 1225 of them will really help!!!

Do I need a new project??? Roll Eyes "Need" is such a subjective word!! lol!! Wink Shhh

Thanks for the reminder, Texana!!!

I like the name Kaleidoscope, since it has so many different colors. I made a quilt for my DGS, with lots of sport theme blocks. Very bright colors. When my DH saw it he said " The kid will have to take 'ritalin" in order to sleep under it. Hence it became the 'ritalin quilt'.

Great quilt!

@gardenpat I like your charm quilt! here is the link to the charm quilt I am making from the same site. I actually have 2 started, one 2.5 inch squares and one 2 inch.

I wish I had more of the modern fabric prints, I tend to be in the civil war era LOL and of course baby and juvenile prints because of the grandbabies.

Going on a road trip soon and I always take scraps to cut along the way, should have a stack when we come back for another charm quilt.

@fishingwidow . . .I love the name 'ritalin' for this kind of quilt!
