stillsuzzzGreat Dane Pillow made by my "student"
I have been teaching a friend to quilt. This is her first applique project, since she has Great Danes, I thought it fitting. Love her eye for color and detail!

quiltbeaThe pillow is terrific. Did she also do the quilting? I'd say she's a natural. It helps to have a good teacher as well. Congrats to both of you.

stillsuzzzThe quilting was her first try at quilting too. It does look alot like her Harlequin females.....which is why we did it in those fabrics. I am very proud of my girl!
Finding a Great Dane pattern for her first project without too many tiny pieces was helpful, I think.
She STARTED quilting when she saw me paper piecing.....she started with basic squares and now does some fancier ones. The next thing she wanted to learn was Drunkard's paths, and made the center of a future quilt for herself. Now she has moved onto applique......she will be on her own soon! Do I sound like a proud "mama"?
