Webshots is going away as a free subscription to be replaced by SMILE. SMILE is going to be subscription service only. I don't mind paying but $30 a yr is twice what Webshots charged. If you have photos you wish to keep from free Webshots you need to move your photos.
There are a number of free picture hosting sites. You can request zip file(s) of all your precious memories.
I lost my computer to a nasty virus a few years ago, all my pictures were totally gone. i use picasa now, it is a free program which stores your pictures off site. or whatever you call it. you can pay for more storage if you need. i think it is $10 a year. there are so many programs out there to try! Good Luck! i have to grab my photos off of webshots too! i totally forgot i had some there! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kim - Strut526,

I just got all my retreat pic's on to my pc and was going to put them on webshots so I could share them...don't want to pay to show pic's! It's a pain to resize them to post them on here...now what?!?

I got lucky when the last computer puked. The technician for DH business did a wonderful job and managed to restore all my files on a zip drive and then I bought a backup that runs periodically to create a copy of everything on my computer with no hassle.

1.How can I download & save my Webshots photos... 2.What photos will be downloaded? 3.How will I know my photos and videos are... 4.Why are there so many files for me to do... 5.What if I have more than one Webshots ac...
i just did mine, set it up, just waiting for them to email me when it is ready to download.
Backup, backup, backup!! Always have some sort of method of having your info stored in another location. An automatic backup, or an external hard drive you manually copy to, or something. I had to take an old hard drive to the technician so he could retrieve the last pictures I had of my mother before she died.
I also need to actually start making and printing albums for some trips/events to make them easy to be seen by other folks.
I use Flicker for my photos (which reminds me it's time to pay. I think it's $24.95 a year).
My son told me about https://www.dropbox.com/. There's a brief demo at this site. If I'm in a hurry and want to save an important document, I save it to my Dropbox. You can save anything here, but I don't know how much storage you are given. The storage I use on Dropbox has been free so far. Like all the other sites, I guess they charge when you go over a certain storage amount. It's saved like a folder on your computer and you can access it from any computer or from your cell phone. It would be a great way to share photos. Just send a friend the photo(s) from Dropbox.
