My hubby and I took a trip down below Dunn, NC a couple of weeks ago to a used farm equipment sale and we happened upon this old store building. Luck would have it that I did not have my camera with me. Yesterday we decided to drive back down so we could get some shots of it.

How many would be interested in making a quilt from the photo we took?

I love the way it is tilted to the side. It appears a slight gust of wind would just blow it right over but yet it remains suspended on its "hinges". If it were going to go down, trust me, it would have gone down a few nights ago. We had some mighty high winds come through here. Hubby actually said he thought it was leaning slightly less yesterday than it was the first time we saw it but I don't know if I agree with that or not. But maybe.

So what do you think? Would you be game to create a quilt from this photo?

Quilt Size: No smaller than 36 x 36

Quilt must be finished!

Quilters Choice as to design, fabrics, embellishments...

So basically the only 2 rules are the size and it has to be finished.. all other things pertaining to your quilt is up to you...

Due date for photos to be sent to me will be August 15th! That gives you 5 1/2 months to make your quilt!

I will be getting together some awesome prizes for the top 3 winners!

I am on my second start on this thing. I didn't like how the first one was going. This one is better, so far. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this. Jackie

Q I love the pic it is just the sort of building that would capture my interest on a road trip! I sure wish I could do this but I am still in the middle of the woods in Midland....MI trying to help my DB recover...poor dear has been sick really for the past two years...Dr. didn't think he'd make it through the winter....DB surprised him! Although it is good to be here to do what I can, I am so sad being away from my Bernie, my sewing room, my stash ......oh, yeah and DH

How many have started their quilts?

I started mine have two days of work in it ..... is it ok if we put some captions on it ?....... It make my heart ache here in Pa when I see the old farms go by the wayside, not to many small farmers anymore?

Mine is started. Finding the size a challenge, but I have a good start, just need to put some finishing details on. Jackie

I have not done a thing. I may be in a similar boat as Irish but for different reasons...parents visiting for the summer, work and starting my own business. It is still on my to do list.

have not started yet either. I did print it out and put the picture in a conspicuous spot so I see if several times a day.

am still debating how I want to do it.

You know you're talking to 'blue-procrastinator-snail'....I have the photo hanging in my sewing room, have an idea, now I just need to dedicate some time to see if it will work or not. Hummm.... one more week when I can do some sewing, then my 2 little loves arrive for a 3+ week stay, so June is fairly well shot: will still have to do several projects I'm in - can't ignore them, for others on the board need what I'm working on - so it looks like I'd better devote all of July to doing this one!

Okay, so now I am confused. Do we get to select which photo to use or are we supposed to use the first photo? Or second photo?

I made both photos to show both angles.. You can make your quilt any way you wish.. It is your creation.

OMG, borders? I am still on the main part. Plugging along. I have a splint on my left wrist, so that makes for slow going. But I'm getting it done. Jackie

have a plan forming but work on it will have to wait until after June 23...major family stuff in the way! I will have a finished project to contribute by show time...

Yoo-Hoo... How are you ladies progressing?

I'm in the same boat with Irish, slowly floating out to sea, lol! We moved last month and we've been working away at getting things in order. You would think after 30 days, it would all be in place, right? No way! I fell in the basement two weeks ago (fell right across the long thing on the utility trailer) and bruised my ribs, so slowly recovering from that stupid fall. Didn't know that could be so painful.

Sadly, I will be an admirer of those who finish. My youngest son and DIL are getting a divorce (they have our 9 month old grandson) and this has just crushed us. Along with all the moving and this latest news, I'm not in the mood to sew now. Just found this out on Sunday.

Oh Devonne...sending love and good thoughts your way. These kids...make us stress and grey...sure wouldn't live without them though. Hope they can get things worked out ammicably (sp?) for your grandson.
