Dang it! DS texted this morning. His GF of 3-4 years has decided she may still have feelings for the person she's called "sperm donor" since the birth of her oldest - 10 years! Thank goodness the lease for the house is in DSs name.

There have been times I've wanted to shake DS until his teeth rattled and slap her! This is not a surprise to me.

I was going to make 3 snuggle quilts for her 3 DDs...the girlies I call them. I'll finish the 3rd top and just hang them in the closet.

What really ticks me off is the Laurel Burch bag I purchased for her at the MO quilt show. Guess I have a new bag...

To quote Yosemite Sam though...

That's thinkin' positive--a new bag and a whole lot of less sewing. However, your son may need a new snuggle quilt for himself.

Another total bummer is - those are three real sweet girlies. I always enjoy being around them. Since they are over 300 miles away I may never see them again...

And it's a real bummer for your son. Why do these things have to spoil an otherwise nice holiday?

Well shoot. Too bad about the little girlies. So sorry for your son.

I don't miss my brother's ex or her son, though. Ugh. I agreed with him. Time to go. And I don't believe in the D word, either...

You know there is nothing that says you can't make the quilts for the girls, right? Even if there isn't going to be a familial relationship, nothing sez a friend can't give a gift to a friend. If you like the girls, I'm sure you have a bit of you in them. They'll know it.

So sorry about the situation. That's a bummer of a reason.

DS ...sigh...he falls hard. He's not a love 'em and leave 'em type young man. His high school GF broke up with him during his junior year at college...threw him a curve...he dropped out...tried going back to college a couple of times but it never worked out for him. I carefully told him 'better now than after marriage and two kids'...she left him for someone else.

The very next year (11-month period) his BF and housemate died, his dog died, another BFs DD died from cancer, then that BF died...we're talking "boys" in the mid 20s and early 30s. One had a previously undiagnosed heart condition, had pneumonia and died in the hospital. The other young man had polycystic kidney disease and had just made the transplant list. I feared for my son's mental health and life during that time. Whenever I had a G0d whisper, I called him...morning, noon, or night.

He seems okay. I don't get the feeling of full despondency from him when we talk or from his texts or Facebook posts.

And shoot...who knows...she may be back next week. I doubt that I rush with the quilts now...we are just a month away. But I may get the girlies something else...

Tough stuff and hang in there as you son will need your "clear head" now and then so he can vent.

Happy Stitching...Lois
