These two quilts came in from CitySandie (California) today & the work on them is beautiful. The pink one on th right has fabric with hearts all over it & the back is black with pink & red hearts. The back is sparkling with glittzie fabric as well as some of the fabrics on the front. Those sparkles sure do give it a nice look. The one on the right is made from absolutely awesome fabrics & colors. Check out Sandie's great braid pattern. Sandie, you did a fantastic job on the quilt with the wrap around binding.

See those little bows between the two quilts? Sandie sent a whole handful of those for me to use. Now those will be great for embellishments. Thank you Sandie for your help with the project & your thoughtfulness.

I received an e-mail from Deb today & she wanted to thank everyone for such cute quilts. She is posting them on her Flickr account here.

Hi Angie - You don't have to miss it - really - if you have some things to use up in a cute little project these are the perfect answer.
As you can see from the pics posted - no 2 are alike! Certainly easy. Oh I hope that didn't sound pushy, I only meant to include you if you were inclined.

Angie, they need both sizes so you take your pick & make what size you want. I think the 12" x 18" are probably used for the strollers & the 14" x 18" are probably for the doll beds. (this is just a guess on my part). They don't have to be exact dimensions. I will p.m. you with my address. I'm collecting them all here & will mail them off to Debbie when I get them all. Thank you so much for joining in on this project.

This brings me to mention (as City/Sandie stated), even if you didn't sign up on the original thread doesn't mean that you can't be a wonderful part of this. ANYONE & EVERYONE can join in & make doll quilts for the children. Just let me know & I'll get my address to you. This is a fun project & I certainly didn't mean to leave anyone out. Just because all 50 states were represented didn't mean that we should stop there. There is plenty of time for more quilters to sign up.

Jeanne, the quilts came from the Connecticut Seniors today & they are all sooooo very, very lovely. Please be sure to thank them personally for me & let them know how much I appreciate their participation in this project.

Each one is hand tied & all of them are so colorful. One is a string quilt with such pretty fabrics. One is a Winnie the Pooh panel that is so cute with all of Winnie's friends. There's one with pretty red fabric with stars all over it & some of the stars are outlined in that glitter. That quilt has threee little squares in the center with darling animals in little boats....so cute. The last one is a stripy quilt made of great colors. It has some of the glitzie star fabric in it also. Each one is signed on the back with "Made with Love from Connecticut's Seniors". Thank you, thank you, thank you for the quilts.

I hvae 2 in the works also .. it'sjust so darn fun .. but am finishing a wedding quilt to get into the mail - hopefully tomorrow .. it's only 3 hours away but so often the mule train seems to stop to water and them nap and then munch and then, well, HAY, too late to travel - those freeways get busy, and the 40 across the desert at night is downright DARK and lonely.
But I ALWAYS have time to check in here Smile

Well take a look at what was dropped off at my house today.

These two came from AngelaC from that great state of Maryland. The littl Teddy Bear quilt is made with a panel & don't they just look like they are ready for a hug? Angela quilted around the bears & added those sweet border on the top & bottom. What beautiful workmanship on these. She did the wrap around border.

The other one is so pretty in it's soft colors with beautiful butterfly fabric on the back. If you look closely you can see a new technique to me. She took the front yellow border & cut it larger than the quilt & wrapped it to the BACK & stitched it down for the binding. How clever is that? I'm learing so many things from all these quilts.
Thank you, Angela for such a well done job on these two quilts. The children are going to love them.

This is the other package that came today & it is from Malou who made this quilt representing Hawaii. It's made from such pretty 30's replica fabrics & has pretty star decorative stitching surrounding each piece. It has precious little bunny fabric on the back. This is really a sweet, sweet quilt.
Thank you Malou for being a part of doll quilt project!! Group Hug

Now for the BIG QUESTION!!! Does anyone recognize the contents of this little special box? Well.....it just happens to be some of Malou's very, very famous English Butter Toffee!! WOW!!! She made me a batch as a little treat & I'm just blown away by this gift for me.
Malou, I've seen so many post on this message board about this wonderful toffee & dreamed o someday having some. You can' imagine how surprised & happy I was when I opened that little box & saw it. I love butter toffee & have eaten a lot in my lifetime & I have to say this the by far the best I've ever had! Thank you so very, very much for this sweet surprise. Group Hug

I just wanted to let you know that I have sent Debbie 25 of the little quilts that I've received. I decided to go ahead & send some to her a few at a time. I was going t wait & send them to her all at one time but I don't trust the post office to get them to her & didn't want to take a chance of loosing them ALL in one box! Eek She got them today & is so thrilled with the workmanship & unique quilts that y'all have made. This is her blog where she has posted pictures of a few along with wonderful comments.

The deadline isn't until July 1 but I wanted to give you a little update on what I have done. I just picked out some randomly to make the first journey to her.

Saturday I received 2 pkgs. in the mail with doll quilts. City/Sandie sent 2 more & PWife sent in 2 representing Utah.

City/Sandie sent in the cutest little S.Sue panel quilt with S.Sue backing. She tied off the little Sue's at each shoulder & stitched between each Sue block w/invisible thread.

Her other quilt is a beautiful, soft floral quilty. She did a decorative stitch all around the center blocks & also to stitch down the wrap around backing.

Thank you Sandie, for all the fun & beautiful quilts that you have sent.

These 2 little quilts that came in from PWife are so cute & so much fun. Bright colors are loved by all children (& many adults...like me!). The smaller of the two quilts is actually a reversible quilt. She used the same fabrics on each side to make it usable both ways. The binding is zig-zaged on & she used a darling decorative stitch across the quilt in 3 places to bind it all together.

The second quilt she made is sooo cute. The little animal strips are all one piece but they look like separate blocks. What a fun & happy quilt. It just made me smile as soon as I saw it. She used the decorative stitching for the quilting on this one & some stitch in the ditch.
The backing is solid yellow.

Thank you so much Vickie! The children are going to love these quilts.

Here's the cute quilt I got in the mail Friday from alexemmarose & this quilt represents North Dakota. It's so sweet with it's soft little rose bud fabric. She tied it off & embellished it with a cute bow & ric-rack all around. It has a bright pink backing. Some little girl is really going to be happy to find this quilt at Christmas. Thank you, alexemmarose for a job well done! Group Hug

Also, here is another report on the project. If you scroll down you will see some of the toys that are being made by the woodworkers & also a picture of the original founder of the toy project. It's nice to see who actually started all of this & doesn't he look like a very, very nice man?

Here's the latest little quilt that came in from Goldiesmom in Missouri. This is a beautiful little, one piece quilt but it looks like individual, scrappy heart blocks. I don't know where you gals find such fabulous fabric but I sure wish I could shop where you do. Smile This quilt has a soft pink backing & bound in the same fabric. It's going to be loved by a little one. Thank you, Goldiesmom, for taking part in the project. It is greatly appreciated! Group Hug
