Welcome everyone to the Friday night PJ party. I will be showing a super simple way to make pineapple blocks.

I’ll start posting the steps in 15 minutes. Let me know if I’m going too fast or too slow.

In case you didn’t see the notice on Sunday or didn’t get time to get everything prepared, here is a quick recap of what you need. 2 squares – 2 1/2”, one square each; 2 3/4”, 3 1/8”, 3 5/8”, 4 3/8”, 5 3/8” and 6 3/4”, pencil and ruler and fabric scissors.

If you’re just getting it together now, draw two diagonal lines from corner to corner on each block except the center 2 1/2” one.

Make a VERY SMALL snip one the line of each block. If you forget, this can be done later, but it is much easier to do ahead of time.

I have dessert ready for everyone to dig in; do you have your spoons????

can i sprinkle some bailey's irish cream on top of that?

quiltingwifey can't be with us tonight but she has made this block. She used her rotary cutter rather than drawing the lines, and cut an X in each block to within 1" of the corner.

It might be helpful to show the picture of the two finished blocks so newbies to the thread will know what they look like and be able to figure what fabric to cut what sizes.

I'm here with the Bohemian Strudel and completed homework.

Ladies, start your machines!!!!

First step, place your two 2 ½” squares, right sides together and stitch ¼” around all four sides. When making a lot of these you can chain stitch one side of a bunch, chain stitch another side, etc.

If you have not already drawn your lines, draw two diagonal lines from corner to corner on the first piece, not the center piece.

Leave it to quiltingwifey to come up with a new technique....Happy BD wifey...enjoy.

Pull the two squares apart at the center. Fold the top square in the center along one marked line.

HHHMMMM nlk...about that gold star???

Make a small cut through the marked square along a marked line, if haven’t already made your snip earlier

Insert scissors between the squares and carefully cut along the marked lines to each corner. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY CUT THE MARKED SQUARE!!!!

I guess there's no gold star for me. Maybe I can make up for it along the way.

Yes, cut on each marked line all the way to the stitching.

Yup! ready for the irons, don't burn your fingers.

Open triangles and gently press the triangles away from the center square.

I think it's because of the pie crust. I think it's better than the apples. Oh my goodness! Lard rules!!!!

i am progressing, my block is getting larger and larger. i realized i was missing one, but i cut another.
