Another fun Missouri Star (quack)video. Jenny says "You don't die over it...don't tell anyone where the mistake is and they'll never know". She's so refreshing and makes quilting really fun!
Cute & easy, and there are some videos on the side bar that look interesting, too. Thanks. Quack!
I can't believe she didn't use a walking foot (didn't look like there was one built-in on that machine?), and that she poked those corners out with a pencil. If I sewed through a fabric bunch or poked through the fabric with a pencil point, I would "die over" those!

Enjoyed the video. I like watching her, she makes everything look easy. I really like the charm pack one, and think one done with strips would be very pretty also.

I know -- and she works in a quilt shop! There must be something there more suited to corner-poking.
After experiencing the heartbreak of making a project only to ruin it by poking a hole in the corner, I learned to have a variety of tools on hand. Here's what I now use (picture below), depending on the weight of the fabric & the space available to poke. L-R: Two round-tipped embossing tools from Michael's (years ago), two Dritz point turners, a Clover Hera marking tool, and a bone folding tool that I got in an art supply store.
Oh, and I learned that you can iron on fusible interfacing from the inside to try to patch a poked hole, but it's never quite as good as new. Best not to make holes in the first place!

I picked up a free "tool" for poking the corners on projects. The plastic piece that comes out from the handle of milk jugs . Sometimes they are still in tact when the milk ships and I have found them in the grocery store near the dairy case.
My mom used to save those milk jug pieces and use them for...??? It was ages ago. I think scraping dishes. She had them in the drawer with the previously-used twistie ties, which she also never threw out.

I've got a wooden pointy tool from my MIL's stash. It's from the 30's or 40's and is burnished smooth from our hands using it. The tip is still pointy enough to turn the collar points, but rounded enough not to go through. I learned my lesson about pencils in 7th grade. I think I used a large knitting needle (also can make holes!) until I inherited Mil's tool. I was surprised at that too.

Oh yea, "That Purple Thang." I forgot to include that in my picture. I haven't seen it for awhile. Where did I put it & why wasn't it in with my other little pokey tools?? Now I have a mystery...

Thanks so much for posting that link! I love that tablerunner! don't have time for it now, but it's something I'd really like to make - and i have the Purple Thang too so that's one tool down
i just got my Purple Thang from Amazon. I HAD to use up all of the gift card at one time!! Haven't had the need to use it yet. I usually use a crochet hook or dull pencil. Been lucky so far.

I always (can you tell I've done this more than once ) sew up the seam again a little way in so the hole will be in the new seam. What's the big deal about measurements, anyway?
I bought a purple thang, too. And a second one I got when I couldn't find the first one and then lost. And a third one that I gave away when I found the first and second. And a fourth one that I bought when I couldn't find the first and second one again, but gave away when I found them again.
Now I keep one in my applique supply box. If I ever come on the board complaining that I've lost my purple thang, please remind me to look with my applique stuff.

Been on steroids for three days, never had them keep me awake before - did get 3 hours sleep two nights ago - last night 10 min and then later on got 45 minutes - in between I sewed the top of this table runner - just love it. Will try to finish it up today. What a fun project - thanks to whoever posted it originally - appreciate it!!
