I'm going down to visit my son and DIL in Sugar Hill and want to go over to Gainesville to meet someone and I want to know if there are any quilt stores there.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

Carol, according to the trusty Quilters' Travel Companion, there isn't a shop in Gainesville, but there are two over in Dahlonega (Magical Threads and The Common Thread) and one in Braselton called Betty Sue's. There's also one in Buford called Georgia Sewing & Quilting.

How far are you willing to drive and how much time do you have? There may be others to do day trips. There's a nice shop in Blue Ridge that I've been to and there's one in Ellijay but haven't been to that one.

Here's a link to a list you might want to look at also.

Hope you find something fun!!

I'm going down so I can go to the Sewing and Quilt Expo in Atlanta with my DIL and hopefully meet a guy I've met on a dating site that lives in Gainesville. LOL!
