I did 1 1/2 yds of fleece for DGS's I think if you do any less by the time you tie you don't have enough blanket.
Grant me patience to deal with my blessings ! Life is like a roll of TP the closer it gets to the end the faster it goes |

my directions say this:
Two coordinating pieces of any fleece . . . • for a baby or toddler, purchase 1 to 1 1/2 yards (in each of • two fabrics) • for a child, purchase 1-3/4 yards (in each of two fabrics) • for a teen or adult, purchase 2 yards (in each of two fabrics) ~ i have a kitchen because it came with the house ~ |

even for a 6 month old? I haven't had a little one around for a long time. Is double thickness to much for the little one? I don't tie the top I stitch it so it doesn't tickle the face. I have single a piece 36x24 after tied but that seems to small to me.

I made one for my DGS and the ties all the way around are fine. His is probably about 30-something by 40-something in the main body. Mainly they use it to cover him in is car seat, or to cover him while they are holding him, so the "top" is folded down. They don't use blankets in the cribs for sleeping anymore much, so there isn't really a "top" so much anymore for babies. Oh, and the double thickness is fine for the babies, but I've seen them done single and each "fringe" is tied solo...just tie a knot in it close to the body of the fleece. Either way works. Chances are though, if this is an adopted family in need, their heating may be kept low to save money and the double thickness could be good. ~Barb http://tymetoplay.blogspot.com/ "Striving for excellence motivates you; striving for perfection is demoralizing." Because this family is a family in need. I would encourage a reasonable large size. My daughter received some good sized fleece quilts that she loved to use for the middle of the night feedings because they covered her as well as the baby.
The other reason would be that these kids are going to grow and someone may not make/give them new ones as they out grow the small baby size. |

Thanks ladies. I will go with the double larger ones.
