● ● ● Started with a scratchy throat and turned into two days in bed. Still trying to get my strength back. My head is still a bit woozy and I have no motivation whatsoever. My brain won't let me concentrate on anything too serious right now, so I haven't been posting. Even this is taking quite a bit of effort.

I see everyone setting all these wonderful goals and others achieving them already. I congratulate you all. My goals this year are going to be very selfish to a point. I have promised a few charity quilts, but they are still going to fulfill a personal goal of trying a new design I developed last year. Then, of course, there are a couple of quilts that never got finished last year, so those are first on the list. Right after I finish the t-shirt quilt for a customer. That covers the first six quilts for this year. Hopefully, I'll be able to get them all done before June. {wishful thinking}

Oh, and let's not forget the huge mess that is my studio. That is a major sore spot that needs attention too. I started a crumb quilt to clean up all the little scraps I've been accumulating. It's now to a point I can use the pieces as leaders and enders between the 'real' quilts. I really need to be more productive this year. So, I will be forcing myself to stay away from here to actually get some sewing done. That's all well and good until the Scraps to Treasures Challenge starts again. It's been on my mind for days, but haven't really started thinking about it yet. Mostly because I still have to send out the prizes for the last one. Bear with me just a little longer on that. I heard the postage rates will be going up again on the 27th, so I will definitely have them ready to go by then.

I haven't done any sewing since last year, so nothing new to show. Don't even know when I'll have something new. This litany hasn't even touched on all the odds and ends of little projects I have swimming in my head. Like I said, I need to be more productive!

Here's hoping this year has a better resolve than these first few days.

Starting out the New Year not feeling well is not good. Here's hoping it goes away and you can bet back to being jayardi, quickly.

For your goals....sounds good. Just don't get side tracked by anything else along the way...right?

Get well soon.

I hope you're feeling better today. It's always hard to get motivated when illness intervenes. Take some time to get yourself healed and don't fret about the other stuff. It will be there when you're up to it.

Hope you are feeling better Jayardi. It has taken me a "whole year" to get the seam sewn in a backing too!

Feel better, Jean! I'm voting for a re-start to the year, since I was *sure* that this year would bring good health for our family. Ha! DH is dealing with kidney stones, so we must need to start the new year over and we will be in good shape Smile.

I'm ready for a productive year too . . . ready, set, go!

Jean, great to hear from you...had kind of been worrying about you...not much posting by you! I am sorry you have illness...it is terribly hard to get anything accomplished when you are under the weather. It sounds like you have MANY projects planned...I do, too! Funny how those UFOs creep up on you!

Again, great to hear from you. Hang in there my dear friend.

sorry you've been sick Jayardi. I hope one of your 2013 goals is to host the s2t challenge. I can't wait.
I didn't list any sewing goals, the sewing room seems to get further and further away (or I'm getting lazy).

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad start to 2013 Jean! You get so much done in a year, I'm sure you will be outproducing us in no-time! LOL!

Hope you get better soon and that your Mojo returns too! Take care!

Rest up & don't try to do too much too soon! I speak from recent experience. I think the entire country is sick or was sick over Christmas! I was at my doctor this week & even he was getting over it. I didn't ask him who he goes to when he gets sick. Confused

I think gremlins got in my sewing room & stirred things around while I was sick, though. When I opened the door again, I almost swooned, and not from the virus... Red Face

Get well! Being sick is no fun at all.

I had a virus that kept me in the bathroom 12 hours doing one thing then 4 hours doing the other. I lost 4 pounds. I thought when I got the fluids back in me that I'd be up 2-3 pounds...but this morning after breakfast, 5 pounds were gone. Granted I can't eat much yet my tummy is still sore.

As far as quilting goals...I just want to work on a hand quilting project and get it out of the frame where it has resided since I started working full time - TWO years ago.

Your goals sound good and I hope you have lots of success and finishes!
Hugs for you from me!

Maybe it's one of those things where you do the opposite. Decide to do NOTHING this year...and msybe everything will want to sneak back in rebelliously...hee hee.

Hi Jean! And here I thought you were hiding out playing with all your fabrics. So sorry you aren't feeling well - might as well get it out of the way so you can head into 2013 rearing and ready to quilt up a storm.

Sending big hugs your way!

Hey, Jean---so sorry you are not feeling well and hope you get well soon. Hmmm--did that sound like a "get well card" ?? I really wanted to say "Take it easy, stay in bed, drink lots of orange juice and don't worry about your projects."!!!

● ● ● I am feeling better. I even survived this evening at work. Luckily it wasn't as busy as usual. Don't think I would have been able to keep up if it had. I thank you for the well wishes. They are appreciated. I'm starving, but nothing sounds good and just about everything tastes :YUCK:.

I was very pleased with the scale today too. Wink

Nancy, bite your tongue. I didn't list everything that needs to be done in the next three to six months, but let me tell you it's a good size list. That's why I don't plan on taking on any new projects that you all may try to tempt me with. No sirree! I ain't doin' it!

And Mary Ann, your time is just as valuable as mine, don't you dare sell yourself short! Aren't you the one helping with those QOV quilts? That sounds a lot more important to me. Razz

Lisa, I like your idea. A do over. Can we just start this year over? WITHOUT the illness! Big Grin

I'm headed to bed. Eek I know, it's too early for me, but my body says it's time.

Jean, just read your post, hopefully by now your feeling better and getting your energy back. January always seems overwhelming to me anyway, add your project list and it gets worse. Sounds like you have a plan to keep on track. Here's my input, rest when needed, take some "me" time, cleaning can wait and eat chickin soup :-)
Hugs, Dianne

Jayardi, hope you feel better and things work out for you this year.

I have decided to put a positive spin on 2013, no matter what happens.

So far I have managed that for the most part. i went to work on my new "project" at the animal shelter today - a fluffy feral cat that needs lots of non-handling attention to start him off, before we proceed to physical contact in a few weeks.

While I was there I managed to have Scott (todays shelter staff member) in fits of laughter detailing how i managed to get sprained ankle ligament and a mild concussion already this year, in two separate incidents this weekend Big Grin

I might even start a blog!

Hope you get well, Jean. Started out the year with a head cold and spent the better part of 4 days in bed. Even took a sick day, which I never do. Know just how you felt, so two weeks on, I am finally feeling better, just tired... chris
