Linda--my pkg went out the first of the week---and then came back to me !! Somehow the address label had been torn off--so it is going out today with a new label taped down !! The good news is that my return address was still on it or it would be out in la-la land somewhere!!

Linda, If you still want more (silly thought, I know), please PM me your address. I know I have some black on white that is prewashed, and I might have some small pieces of white on black, too. I'll check on that this weekend.

The Ben Franklin in Oconomowoc has a very nice quilt department. During one of my trips there I was told that Ben Franklin stores are independently owned--therefore they are not all the same. The owners decide what they will and will not carry. The ladies here go to the bigger quilt markets to select items. This store has quilting trunk shows, classes, clubs and events. Every fall they have a major event. The prices here used to be very good, but the last few times I went, they were more toward average and less in the sale section. If you are in the area, it is still a fun place to shop. They have a wide assortment of fabric styles--from kids to reproductions, batiks and solids. The Chocolate Factory next to them is a little pricy for what you get, but the sandwiches are good! I think they will be a part of the Wisconsin Shop Hop this spring.

Well that bummed me out....I tried to attach the first picture only to find out I had selected the one that I knew was too big...lost my entire post.

The following pictures are all in the drying phase. I use a sweater dryer to make quick work of the drying process Smile There are 4 of them I think....

I did not take a picture of all the pieces - only the ones I have washed. I received 2 1/2 squares as well that are not shown. ALL are very much appreciated. The variety is amazing!! Just what I was looking for - thank you all so very much for your kindness and generosity. I appreciate it more than I can say.

If you have not yet mailed - you don't need to I think we're good now but I sure appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you!
So, let's try the "show" again Smile

More envelopes came this week:

Pegsami - second time was a charm Smile
Angelinamor - beautiful
Katiemedarlin - more beauties

I've been busy all week making 4 patches...I only get about 45 minutes a night and was just too tired last night but the stack is growing. Sewing the 4 patches is not so bad but the squaring and cutting to the 3 1/2 size is time consuming...or maybe it just feels that way.

I'm amazed at the variety - truly - yes, there are some duplicates but each package brings at least one new print and usually more.

Thank you - all of you. What do you think of using the extras for a quilt to donate to the Ronald McDonald house here in Madison - who wouldn't love such a fun and cheery quilt Smile I will do another round of KC's swap of bright bricks and use them for this as well.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I can't believe mine hasn't made it. I mailed it myself, (I'm a clerk at our post office!) on Monday, Jan 7. I even put extra postage on it!

I haven't gotten it back yet either! So bummed it hasn't arrived yet.

Jill - I'm so embarrassed - I have all the envelopes here and went through them - your envelope is here (has all the super cute forever stamps on it Smile )- which means it came and I dropped the ball and didn't include in a receipt posting. Please forgive me. (I even remember looking at the fabrics - wonderful! )

I am like royalboomer... Your envelope is all packed and ready to go but I have been putting together other things to go to the post office too and looks like mine are too late too... I can go ahead and send though since you are going to make the quilt for RMH> You know it is dear to my heart.

TY - Q - This project has now evolved to serve dual purposes...it started out just being something for this DGD and I could to spend some quality time and get a quilt done for her (her sister got one last year) - more importantly now it will be an opportunity for her to experience the sheer joy of creating something that will sooth and comfort someone in need.

Great idea, Linda! Your DGD will love doing this and learn how satisfying it is to make something to help cheer up someone else.

Linda, I didn't get my package out to you until today! I have been sick with both Influenza A & B and the A turned into pneumonia. It was the first time in about 15 years that I didn't get a flu shot! Bummer! Anyway, finally mailed my package out to you...if it is too late just keep for your future projects.

Axel - I'm so sorry you've been sick - I got a flu shot but others at work got one and have been out with it anyhow Smile It's a nasty one this year. Hope you are feeling much better. Maggie and I won't be sewing until April - well - I've been getting a headstart but you get my drift. Take care of yourself.

Axel - your package came in the mail today....made me glad I trudged out to the mailbox in all the snow (had to shovel my way down the driveway) I think we must be at around 8" or so now and it is still snowing. Hope the service comes yet tonight or it's going to be tough getting out in the morning. I missed today so I need to go in tomorrow.

Thank you so very much. Take care of yourself - that was quite a whammy you took. I thought about skipping the shot this year but I'm sure glad I didn't....I can't believe how many people are ill - many that did get the shot.

Linda, glad you are staying reasonably well...that is my goal for 2013!

Happy sewing with your sweet DGD. I know it is fun but can be a bit trying also...sweet little angels have their own minds with how things should go! You are a good grandmother!
