Miss Maggie participated in KC's swap due to end soon with the bricks being sent to me. The bricks are brights 3 1/2 x 6" I thought I would have enough B & W and W & B 2 1/2" squares but I was SO WRONG!! I've sewn all that I had already - have 78 4 patches made so far but I need about 180. I could cut from my stash but would prefer more variety. I need about 90 2 1/2" black on white and 90 2 1/2" white on black squares. I would prefer the pattern to be distinctly white on the black or the opposite. I have some in my stash that won't work because the white and the black actually look grey and lose the pattern from a distance. My plan is to have all the components ready for her birthday weekend (she'll be 10) - let her determine the placement of the components and then help with the sewing using a QAYG method. She loves the process of laying out all the components and creating her design. So...would anyone be willing to trade 2 1/2" squares - I will reimburse you your postage. Even if you have 5" squares with distinct B & W I can cut them down. I can trade or reimburse you for cost or something else you need?? If you send me a PM I'll give you my email and snail mail address. I would like them ASAP - her weekend will be in mid April but this time of the year has me hopping so I only get short periods of time to sew. Hence the starting now Thank you in advance. This message has been edited. Last edited by: royalboomer,

I had some BnW, predominatly black. Let me check to see if I've cut the fabric down when I was re-organizing or if it's still in larger pieces. If I do, you can have it, gladly. No reimbursement required. I got enough 'stuff'.

Does it matter whether washed or unwashed? www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

Pm me your snail mail, I may have a few I can send. No reimbursement or trade necessary.

Good questions: I'm looking for variety so a whole stack of the same print is not good. I would say I would try not to use one print more than half dozen times though a couple over that would not matter in a quilt that is using so many. Washed or not - If you know they have been washed just let me know; otherwise I can easily wash a sinkful - that small won't take long at all. I haven't seen much of an issue with bleeding with the BoW but sometimes with the W o B ones. Bottom line, I will assume they are not washed and give them a quick wash to make sure they aren't going to bleed. Thanks for asking. You are all so generous - thank you so very much.
Jean - I knew you collected them - had no idea you had gotten so many For some reason I have a boatload of blues!!
Linda, I am sure I have some to send you, too.Nothing needed in return--happy to do it for you. If you haven't moved lately, I'm sure I have your address--- Variety & Contrast means BUY EVERYTHING

● ● ● They weren't actually lost, just scattered throughout the studio. Some still in bags or a pile here and a pile there. A few still in the suitcases too. If you post photos as they come in, then I can fill in what you need and avoid duplicates. ▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ Life without quilting is not an option! • • • • • MY Photos • • • • • • ENJOY! Hi, I have a few b&w and w&b to add to the variety. I've pm'd you for your address. No need to send anything back.
I'm not a big b&W fan but I do have a few, do you still need any? *********************************** “May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. I'll go cut you some 5" squares and get them in the mail this week. You are always so generous, so please do not feel you need to send anything back. I have your snail mail address, so I'm good to go. "Never be afraid to try anything new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic." Unknown.

You know I've been thinking and thinking on what kind of border would potentially work the best on this quilt...I do believe I have it. Miss Maggie is going to get a lesson in very simple machine applique....I think the border that would be perfect is a solid (or reads as solid) darker color - I'll let her choose from the stash - with any extra squares interspersed in a whimsical/wonky manner onto that. How cool will that be! I want her to reminded of the generosity of others every time she looks at it. Bless all of you.

Royal - its a gloomy overcast day here and I don't want to start a major project or iron so I found the FQ I won at B&W bingo one year and cut squares. Sorted them into black on white and white on black and one just didn't know which category it belonged to: ![]()
I can send a small assortment. I did a black and white quilt a few years back and I found the scraps. The fabric is not prewashed. I will leave the scraps larger than needed so you can wash then trim. I will need your address. No need to send anything back--I am happy to help you with this project! Amy
A package is on the way to you from here. I chose 7 BOW and 7 WOB. They are all scraps from my DGDs quilt so I think Maggie will like them. And there are no repeats from the ones McPatches showed.
MaryAnn - thank you so very much - I have a few here that fit into the "don't know" pile as well - thought it was just me MaryLou - I haven't seen a fabric yet Miss Maggie doesn't love I'm glad I started on these now - it may take me to April to get them all squared up Quilters ROCK!!
Would love to send you some, but it looks like you will be floodd with them. When the dust settles, if you need more, let me know... Chris

Linda sent pkg to you today. I forget count but think it is thirty-six 2 1/2" sqs. They are BOW. You and Maggie have fun. No swapping necessary. Susan
Sorry, I checked my stuff and all the scraps I had left I've cut down to either strips or smaller squares. I knew I had some but also knew it was small. Have a good time!!!!
Isn't it great when our granddaughters share our love of fabrics/sewing?
I'm working on b&w/w&b for KC's swap and Easy Street. I'd be happy to send you some if you'll pm your address...nothing in return is needed .. it is such a good cause!
My 4 yr old DGD loves taking pieces of fabric and using my floor as her design wall. She was so excited last visit to turn a chinese coin scrap top into an I-spy game, finding pieces of "her" quilt in the strips. I think she may be my budding quilter-to-be. I just wished she lived closer. Royalboomer - I don't have many B & W prints but please post if you need more and I will certainly send what I have. Joan
I forgot to add a note to my package telling you they are all washed.
Mine went out snail mail today. It's not much but every little bit helps & maybe these are some that you don' already have. Nicki We live in the home of the free...because of the brave.
I sent a priority mail envelope today with a bunch of 2 1/2" squares, all washed. "Never be afraid to try anything new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic." Unknown.
Royalboomer, I forgot to tell you that I don't think my fabrics have been washed. Some may have been but I don't know which. I started collecting black and whites a long tome ago before I started always washing fabrics before I put them in my stash.
Not a problem Mary Lou - just to be safe I'm going to give them all a little bath in the sink
I have a bunch of the four-patches already made and will include them in the swap package!
Thank you KC - I love when we can do double duty Two packages in the mail today: Pvillelou (Mary Lou) and Imaquilter (Amy) - Thank you so very much...Amy, where did you find the fabric with 4 different prints on it - what a cool strip it was B on W. Many of the ones in the packages are new to me - all are super!! Thank you again.
I made a B/W quilt for a friend and have a nice selection of pieces left. I'd gladly contribute to the cause - happy in the knowledge that they have found a nice new home. Let me know, PM me your addy and I'd be happy to drop them in the mail.
I've got some too. PM your address. Live when my leftovers find a good purpose. Evelyn
Thank you!! Will PM the address. My plan is to "donate" any extra squares to Maggie herself to use for coordinating projects to go with her quilt. She'll love it.
I'm glad they made it! The strip with the 4 prints came from Ben Franklin in Oconomowoc. I bought that particular fabric a few years ago. I liked the idea of four small scale prints in a single cut. Amy
Today's mail brought three envelopes with scrumptious B & W's: luv2craft98 Char77 Kay-lin Thank you!! I have a batch drying now Amy - I didn't even realize there were still Ben Franklin stores here in WI. I think the four different prints in the one fabric is a wonderful idea - My plan is to take some pictures tomorrow after I get home from FINALLY picking up my new glasses. I ordered them on Nov 14 (it was supposed to take a maximum of two weeks)- can you believe it? What a fiasco but it should be done by this time tomorrow. I won't go there again. I will be so glad - the temporary prism in the glasses I'm using now is really showing the wear and tear. Have a great day tomorrow!!
Yay, I'm glad they made it there. I hope they will work for you. If not, no biggie you have more for your stash!!! Blessings, Machell
