| i have heard complaints about high priced ones and cheap ones..i have a black and decker and one i got at walgreens, they had a rebate for $10, so i ended up paying $10 after the rebate. i think it was a "signature" model. no name brand kind of. lol
so i really have none to recommend. i just by the ones for around $20/$25. works for me. |

| I love love LOVE my T-Fal irons. I kept one going through years & years of use (and probably abuse) til the auto shut-off switch lost its mind & started shutting off the iron while I was using it. I recently replaced it with a T-Fal Easycord iron from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. So far so good! Even DH likes it...he irons his own clothes. Now there's a testimonial for you -- an iron a man likes! I tried Rowenta irons one time & in one day, ended up taking 2 back because they both leaked immediately, first use. I've never been tempted to try Rowenta again. One other note on the T-Fal brand -- their weight is not bad. I had wrist surgery years ago, and the irons are not hard on my wrist. (If I iron for a long time, though, I do wear a brace.) I did notice that the new iron is heavier than my old iron IF filled the whole way (it holds more water than the old one). So I just don't fill it all the way. But if you don't have wrist problems, this wouldn't be an issue. |

| I love fancy irons! I just can't justify buying one for myself because I am just too hard on them. I can't even count the number of times I have knocked them off. I am pretty good about keeping them clean, but don't use the steam feature because I am bad about putting in the right water. I use a Black and Decker. It doesn't have a auto shut off, which I like.Keep it plugged in same light bar as a light so I remember to shut it off when I am done! |

| I am going to check that out. Thanks Auntie Reba! Maybe I need a new iron too! |

| I just picked up a Proctor Silex at my Family Dollar store for $10 - no auto shutoff. The one with auto shutoff was $15. It's lightweight, gets nice and hot, and steams well. My Rowenta died, but I loved it! Never had a problem with leaking or anything. I just didn't want to spend that much on a new iron

| I love my Rowenta, but then I don't use steam on any iron. I have a spray bottle to wet down fabric. In fact, my Mother (a non-sewer) has a Rowenta for ironing her cloths. She bought it without ever asking me about what type of iron I use. She also has a black and decker - and does not like it at all. |
