I'm really having a hard time deciding on a color. At first I was thinking blues and yellows, now I'm thinking about 30's. I'm just not sure how 30's would look in this pattern. Also I don't have a background that I want to use, so I may have to go shopping tomorrow to see what I find.

All the blocks so far are really stunning!!

I have decided on the Stonehenge Fabric line to use for all my blocks , plus my chain blocks. Now that I have my sewing room clean and can find my cutting table, I am ready to start on my block. Hopefully I should get it done by the weekend, because on Monday I will have Jury Duty for a full week. UGH!!! Sue

So many pretty blocks! I really like Anael's. PatriciaAnne - I can't wait to see the next birthsone!

Angela - where's yours?!! Nothing like a little pressure! LOL!

SisterSue - you can't go wrong with Stonehenge! That will be fabulous! Has PattyJ figured hers out yet?

When will it be February? Or, now that I've read CBQ's post, she would all be afraid?!!

I haven't checked this thread for a few days and what wonderful additions have been added with the blocks! I do love seeing all the different color combinations and choices.
KBlue, love your blues! alexemmarose, that poinsettia in the middle is so pretty! And your QOV top is so nice!
Elaine, I love blue and gold together.. nice block!
Patricia Anne, I like your first birthstone block and can't wait to see the next ones!
Anael, gorgeous fabrics! So rich looking with the flecks of gold in there.
sister sue, I like your choice of Stonehenge fabrics and colors!
Could never pick a favorite! Wouldn't it be a nice scrappy colorful quilt to put all these in one top!
CBQ, be kind with our next block! We've got the rest of the month to be thinking about it and worrying!!

While cleaning my sewing room, I found the perfect fabric for the backing of my 2012 BOM quilt. So, I used the fabric for the backing, pinned the quilt and used decorative stitchs and now have a completed quilt. I decided to post it here. I also completed my first chain block and have material cut for the rest of the chain block. Sure looks like it should be a pretty quilt. Sue

Will this be conducive to the QAYG method? Because that may be the only way I end up with a completed quilt.

Patricia Anne~ yes, any quilt can be done as a QAYG. Smile You can quilt, join the blocks in the front, and add the extra strip to cover the seam on the back~ it will give the back a windowpane look. Smile

Kim, that is the big surprise at the end of the year. Your chain block is your choice. Anything that you want to make. I'm doing something that I haven't done before and I'm going to keep it a secret even from Sister Sue.!!! That is going to be hard. I think the first few posts from our leaders on this thread will explain. I hope you are going to join us, you won't be sorry. The chain block is supposed to be secret and at the end of the year is going to be the big reveal. Come and join us. Pat
PS Kim, If you check out the first posting then click on the intro in light blue it will give you examples. Have some fun and join us. Pat

I did find some background fabric on Saturday. Maybe tonight I can get the first block cut out. I'm still now quite sure on my chain block. I have 2 different ones in mind and I think I'll try making one of each and then decide which one I like better.

I love seeing all these blocks! Handie Ann - I love how you used the same fabric for the points and the inside of that square! I looks really neat!

Granny - you quilt turned out gorgeous!

Jen - your block is so pretty as well! I didn't chose it, but those of you who've chosen a black background are going to have such pretty quilts.

I can't wait to see more of these blocks. I know Lindsay keeps trying to scare us, but I really can't wait for the next one!

Wow! Blocks and quilt tops are looking just GORGEOUS! I have been a little MIA...very busy with daughter and granddaughters visiting. Daughter and one granddaughter went home and left 3 year old granddaughter here for a few days. She ended up sick...both ends...so haven't been around to see the pretties!

Anael, love your purples! SisterSue, Stonehenge batiks are gorgeous and will make a gorgeous quilt. Patty J, your blues will be fresh and pretty. HandiAnne, very pretty Christm@s colors! Will love watching this since I am making one, too. QuilterJen, your purples look like a stained glass~very pretty. Jane Kiwi, I will watch in interest as you make your blocks. Interesting colors together.

Thanks for the lovely eye candy...always inspirational.
