Wow, they sure look different with different color placement. Hard to tell they're the same block. Will you make two quilts?

Everyone's blocks are gorgous. I love all the different color choices and adaptations to the patterns. I also love the 2012 quilt - gives me inspiration that this time next year I could have a finished quilt! And, I'm really liking the black/white with pops of color. I think I see that in my future.

sue, it is getting close! Can't wait to see what lovely has been chosen for February!

CBQ, I was looking at your list of finishers for January on page 1 and didn't see Chlynn, Shauna or CQwannabe listed... and I might have missed someone. You said you hoped we'd make 20... we're close!

Anael, I've been thinking of you and those babies. Any update on how they're doing?

Thanks for asking Malou! They're hanging in, condition is still very critical but they're struggling to stay with us. No internal organ is working properly or working at all so they get lots and lots of meds, morphine, almost every day they need blood but during the past few days their condition has stabilized. So that's good news.

I'm working on my block...but found it to be frustrating...the first step and second step, yea easy peasy...they lost me when they told me to stack my color 1 and color 3-7/8 x 7-3/4 strips right sides together....Now WHEN did they tell me to cut those???
Maybe my brain isn't working...but I just get annoyed with directions that make me scratch my head Razz

In the supplies list on page two they had you cut those pieces Kentucky. Wink They always have the supply list on the last page of directions~ which does seem backward to me too. Wink Good luck with your block!!

Thanks Malou~ I'll sign in as a 'chick' tonight and get the list updated! Smile

Anael~ continued T&P's being sent! ((hugs))

I'm not going to be able to get January's block done before tommorrow night- my mother spent thirteen days in the hospital with pneumonia. If I wasn't working, I was at the hospital with her. Thankfully she's on the very long road to recovery, but I'm still trying to get things at the house back on track.

I thought I had my setting block all picked out, but I've totally changed my mind! I've now found the perfect setting block! I'm going to have to make quite a few more than I originally planned on, but it's going to come out absolutely gorgeous when it's all finished! I can hardly wait to get started! *grin*

Happy Stitching All!
Susan

YES...a big sigh of relief Jill...I really do not like QST's Razz is there any easy formula to figure out the correct size that you need when you do the 2 square HST's method? The formula for figuring out the HST's is to multiply or divide by 0.64 depending on whether you know the block size...so I'm assuming there is a formula out there somewhere for QST's? If I were to ever get another tatoo it would be quilty related and useful such as a formula for figuring out block sizes...lol

Sandie you know I love my red and white, just hope I can source enough to make all the blocks...I didn't have as many FQ's or yardage as I thought Razz

I did learn something...when working with all those bias edges...it worked out best for me if I didn't press or set seams until the block was completed, the 2 I pressed lightly were slightly distorted and the 2 rows I didn't went together beautifully Smile
