DGD and family were in a car wreck on the way home from Florida. She has a torn intestine and her oldest stepsister has some bleeding in her head. Both are being sent to University of Kentucky Children's hospital. Her sister got here about an hour ago. Sitting in ER waiting on DGD to arrive. The other 3 passengers are Ok but stiff and sore. They were 25 miles inside Kentucky when it happened. Now I will need to make her a special blanket to celebrate when she gets to go home. So far DD is takng it well but they have not cut her baby yet. Good thing I am retired and can take care of everyone. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

My DGD, Annabelle, is being released in a few minutes. All is well with her. When I told her we were staying in a hotel all she asked "does it have a pool?". Her sister with the head injury is staying another day, she is not tolerating food very well. What goes down must come up!

SCARY...hope everyone will be OK! When I bought my car, the salesman pointed out all the latest safety features & airbags everywhere. All I could think was, "Hope I never EVER see them or use them!" I can't even imagine what it must be like for a child to experience something like that. You take care of those girls! New quilts for everyone!

Everyone is finally home. DGD enjoyed the hotel since it had a pool. She only stayed in the UK Children's Hospital for about 10 hours. After a few hours sleep she perked right up and dr decided she was fine, we just needed to watch her.
The step-DGD was released Tuesday. She is 15 and hand made items are not her thing. LOL She has a slight skull fracture, broken collar bone and black eyes. I think she will be fine in a couple weeks. She will have quite a story to tell when school starts. Their school starts the middle of August so she might still have her arm in the sling. But we know she will be OK because when she got her bearings she looked at her dad and said "You did this to me" typical teen age girl comment since looks are high on their list.
Went fabric shopping and found Perry the Platypus fabric to make new pillow cases for DGD. She will be so excited as Perry is her favorite cartoon character.

...TerryOH I have been keeping up with the medical things, glad to hear they are going well, but have to admit that what just got my attention tonight was the Perry fabric ! .. my DGS - 9 - loves Phineas and Ferb .. I need to find that Perry stuff.
I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.
