My local quilt guild had a workshop for this yesterday. We had a "race" to see who finished first and I did. And mine is more like a 1900 quilt because I used 48 strips for mine. It is 63"x60". I used 2 of the same jelly rolls I got from Connecting Threads 2 or 3 yrs. ago. This is all print fabrics.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

This morning I decided to make another one using all solid strips (also from Connecting Threads) and this one is more like a "2000" quilt because of the addition of the white on white squares between each strip. This one measures 60"x67".

I really like them both. The white square gives the solid quilt an extra kick!

They're both wonderful. I especially like the addition of the squares. They really "pop" those solid colors.

Love both your quilts! Been thinking about making one w/a solid sq between the strips & you've convinced me that needs to be my next project. I really like the pop it gives your solid strips. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have no idea right now how I'm going to quilt the print quilt but this is how I quilted the solid quilt today. I added a 2 1/2" white on white border around it all and have the print backing cut to also use as the binding.
Here is the way I've quilted this with Whoopsie Daisy. I used varigated pink, blue and green thread.
I'll post another pic. when I get the binding on.

Be sure to post on the stashbusters thread to be eligible for the april drawing... Chris

Sorry I didn't get this posted earlier. Went to see an aunt and cousin I haven't seen for close to 35 yrs. and then had a dental appt. and then went to a "red hat" meeting with my sister.
I put a 2 1/2" white on white strip around it and then for the binding used a small floral print fabric. Finished size is 69 1/2" x 64".
I think I'll call it Northern Lights as it kind of reminds me of that.
Thank you all for your comments.

Just love it! It surprises me how hanging the quilt vertically changes the look! Northern Lights is a great name.
