Anyone have the Tutoo tote with wheels? Heard a couple of not good reviews of the totes with wheels at Joanns, wheels fall off, not easy to maneuver, etc. Looking for something to bring on an airplane as carry on. what do you all use? Thanks.
I have the "crop in style",Na Navigator.(scrapbooking tote on wheels) but i only use it for the janome jem..i got it at Michaels with a 50% off coupon..had it 3 years now..no problems. the bags your talking about, i have heard nothing but good..but i didn't want to pay that kind of money to haul my machine around. it may be cheaper to check at Kohl's or someplace like that, in the luggage section. they are always running sales. just take your machine measurements with you.
Mine wouldn't work for plane travel, but is great for any other kind of movement. I have the Bernina double set. I can put a machine in the bottom bag with all kinds of space for fabric and tools and take it alone or fill the second, smaller bag with the embroidery unit or another machine and it sets on top of the first (over the handle) and wheel both at the same time.
Mine are made with good support and cushioning. More than I have seen on some of the other bags. With the prices we pay for our machines I didn't want to just shove it in any bag that wouldn't protect it as well.
I use one that I got at Joanns. I had to buy a machine while on vacation, so I had to bring it home. it fit in the overhead, worked great, I padded fabric around it while traveling. I also use it for classes, works great, pack everything I need.

I have two I bought at JoAnn's and so far no trouble. I use one for my small machine and one for fabric, rulers, and notions. They were very plain so I fancied them up a littl.
I have the rolling case from Joann's and have liked it. It was purchased with a 40% off coupon and was under $25. I use it for my Janome Gem or my Pfaff and can fit fabric and supplies in the case as well. It was a good purchase.
I have a case on wheels and love it,I purchased mine at a 50% off sale. It holds my machine and has pockets galore, plent of room for my machine and quilting arm. it manuevers well and isn't awkward to carry if need be, some of the airports don't have elevators to accomodate departures on some of the smaller planes. It was extremely awkward for me and DH to motivate teh stairs down to the plane with a stroller, carseat, and our carry-ons with my 2 yr old son this past summer, and I packed light, and two of our carry-ons were backpacks, I had my sons pull along suit case with his snacks and toys, sheww that 15 hr flight is hard on little one and even harder on mom...LOL, I purchased my case after I got back thinking be my sewing case and the one and only carry on i'll ever take on a plane again. because it is toomy enough and has so many seperate pockets

The trouble with the standard luggage is that it isn't padded. But you could take care of that with several bath towels around the machine.
Couldn't find a manufactures name on my set (except it was made in China - big surprise.. ) My stuff wouldn't work for carry on.
Haven't traveled with mine - just to local classes - but love it. It's very well padded - a case for a large machine (with metal frame for stability) and lots of pockets, a case for the embroidery unit and a case for cutting mats. Got it on-line (can't remember from which store - think it was Nancy's Notions) at a big savings about a year ago.
I have the Tutto and love it. I bought the biggest one for my 6500 but then I bought a Jem for classes. So now I put the Jem (case and all) inside the Tutto and load everything else in it, too. Nothing left to carry! The best part is that all 4 wheels swivel and that does make it much easier to manuever. Good Luck.
I am fortunate to have both; the Joann's one I've hardly used and then only for my little Featherweight. The bottom started shredding about the 6th or 8th time I used it, so asked for a Tutto two Christmases ago and really love it. DH & I traveled by rail this summer coast to coast and used both large and next size down and what a life saver. Because we were to be goin 6 weeks, we took lots of stuff and couldn't have managed w/o the large Tutto. The fact that all four wheels swivel allowed us to stack all other luggage on top of it w/one of us pulling and the other balancing the load. You rarely find porters, except in Chicago and I have a really bad back and DH has MS, so we were quite a pair. Tutto, while expensive, is worth every penny. It, too, was made in China, which, if I had known, would have prevented me from asking for it as a gift, but once I had it figured I may as well keep it. Good luck on your decision.

I don't have the Tutto but have heard and read all totally good reviews on it.I would buy one if I was hauling my 6500 around just to protect my investment.
