Welcome to the latest version of the “Quilting Traveling Box”

Please read thru this before signing up as several things have changed from the previous rounds.

The box has arrived from Huntres9 with 5 items left over from the previous journey of the traveling box. I am gathering items to round out the items and will let you know the exact total of items later. Think it is looking like 12 to 15 at this time.

This round is for REGULAR quilting items only. No crazy quilting items. My thoughts are that everyone should conceivably be able to use everything in the box. Since the box already has crazy quilting items in it, those items will be in the starting box, but no more are to be added.

Once the box arrives please post on the message board in the “Traveling Box” thread that you have received the box. Include what you have taken out of the box and who it is from OR if it takes a bit to decide what you want, the next post should include what you take with a picture, if possible. Please post a picture even if you need to add it at a later time as they make everything more interesting. Do not include in your post what is left in the box. All items should be in a zip lock type bag, each bag is one item no matter how many things are in that bag. Replace the same number of plastic bags you take with a plastic bag that includes your name on it or your name inside the bag. Mail the box to the next person. Feel free to use any mailing way you like but be sure to get delivery confirmation. Due to weight constrictions, I usually mail parcel post. Please PM me the delivery confirmation number when you have mailed the box.

This goes on until each person on the list gets the box. I will be the last person to get the box with the remaining items. The items should be quilting related or homemade items that you yourself would like to get. Please don’t put torn, damage/used or dollar store items in or food. As you are choosing what to put in ask yourself if it’s something you would like to pick from.

Please mail the box as quickly as you can as everyone else is anxiously waiting for their turn. I will allow 1 week, but positively no longer. There will be a list with everyone’s mailing information in the box that goes with it each time it's mailed. Please cross your name off the list & send that list with the box you will mail out.

I will list of all names on this thread and update them when they are mailed to you, received and then when you mail out.

Last but not least if something in your personal life changes and you need to drop out or if you have a time line as the box goes on & you haven’t received it please PM me and we will work around it. If you move, please include us in your notifications.

Since this is my first time hosting anything, please PM me with anything I may have forgotten or you have a question on anything not covered here.

Please PM me to sign up for this round of the “Traveling Box”. Deadline Is 4 weeks from now, June 14th. Even if you posted on the last traveling box thread that you wanted to join the next, please PM me. Include your name, address, phone number and board name. Please include if you would like crazy quilt items as I will send the box to someone in that group first as they may take the crazy quilting items and then the rest for everyone else will be regular quilting things.

I'm looking forward to this new adventure, so welcome abroad this journey of the "Traveling Box" Chris

Your instructions look good. The only thing that needs to be spelled out is whether we are to send to the next person on the box included list, or wait for you to tell us who to send to.

PM coming.

Thank you for taking this over.

Would you clarify - are these items from our stash that we would like to pass on, or are we buying items to pass on?

The items can be either. Some are thing I bought new and for whatever reason(like one I just received in the mail this week), I ended up not needing them or they ended up being duplicates of things I had. Or you can go out and buy something just for the box.

Others are things I accumulated and am passing along.

Some things are from my sash that just don't fit my tastes currently.

The main thing is that it is quilt related and is something you would like receiving, just no longer this one. Some items would include fabric, patterns, notions, rulers, mats, cutting tools, books, quilt related items (for example last year someone put in an Ott light), and hand crafted things. There may be other things but that is what I can think of now.

For example, there have been threads on this board about buying the same book you already have or coming home with this fabric you love only to find that it is in your stash already and maybe more than once! Or the pattern you have that you look at and wonder why you bought it.

Hope this helps you to decide to come join us... Chris

20 items to choose from - oh bring the box on. I already have a few items put aside to use for trade if I find anything in the box I want.

And thanks for clarifying the mailing.

OK I'm in. I still have to say: I have things I'm not using and probably never will so primarily for me, it's to PLACE items in a good home. Course the box could get too heavy if I overloaded you. (EEK..emoticons not working)

As I said the first time and it may not mean a hill of beans BUT I found that the closer the box has to go from one sender to the next the less the postage was. That's a BIG plus to me. JMHO

I hope to be able to mail the box on Wednesday. Have pm'd someone with a question I need answered before I can send it.

Couldn't mail today as I was volunteer gift wrapping for Fathers Day for the cat rescue group, that I volunteer for, till the PO window was closed.

Monday & Tuesday are birthday lunches with friends at work. So Wednesday at lunch is when the box will go out to The North, the South, the east, the west or the midwest. Or maybe across the border? I;ll never tell... Chris
