A very nice quick trip to Paris for a backstage look at couture construction, dinner on the Seine, and then a runway show. Did it inspire our designers to go over the top? Not as much as the collection they viewed. Without me giving it away, did you agree with the winner being the best design? I DID think it was scary. I don't know. Remember the red dress? I think with applique added it was a winner!

I kind of liked them all but the one who went home was really right.. all he did was cut off some fabric and turn something around..

That lace and floral was hideous together any way you looked at it... imho. Smile

I think I would have chosen 2nd runner up for the winner.

I agree with who went home and I too would have chosen the runner up for the winner. It didn't seem like Paris inspired them.

When the camera zoomed in on that horrible floral fabric I laughed... I think that dress was one of the ugliest things I've ever seen on PR at this late stage. Couture? Haha

I loved the Paris visit. That fabric store was amazing. I think the designers must have been suffering from jet lag though because none of their designs were really that great.

Loved Emilio's red fabric and it was my favorite but something was off when his model walked in it. Anthony Ryans was interesting but I didn't like the neckline and it was so dark/goth looking. I'm pulling for Uli but her dress looked kind of craft project to me.

I liked the surprise elimination challenge even though I thought there was no doubt about who should be sent home.

The red dress seemed so stiff, but when the judges came up to the runway and felt it, they said it was soft.... I thought Uli did an amazing job with the second design. And the floral fabric was so far from couture, closer to tablecloth.

Glad you started a PR thread...it was a bad week for me...DH was very sick & I've got to call my own doc Mon. about some nagging thing again. So I think I watched on Thursday???! Don't ask me what day it is right now.

I loved the Paris fashion show & watching the designers shop for fabric in that store! Did anyone catch the name? I'd love to know. I wish they would have spent the whole hour showing us those fabrics. They looked scrumptious! EXCEPT for what Josh picked... Eek His first dress was a Heidi Hot Mess, but his second look wasn't soooo horrible (but it was still bad, with that backwards neckline). Uli's first look was odd, but I think she nailed the challenge to mix it up for the second look. Loved that "in your face" use of the lining! Big Grin And her little black jacket was gorgeous.

Speaking of lining, I kept looking @ AR's dress, wondering if I was going to see something I shouldn't...especially after he announced that it wasn't lined?? That dress was an eyeful. It was a pretty covered-up look, though. I would have liked to have seen a plunging back on that dress -- some drama other than a high neck & shoulder padding.

I didn't really like Emilio's red dress. Well, I did and I didn't. Good color, but a lot of dress. Did he quilt that fabric, or did it come like that? I missed that. I agree that it looked stiff. It reminded me of what used to happen when I'd try to make Barbie dresses out of scraps of brocade. The fabric was too stiff to make that small of a garment. Again, Emilio's look was very covered-up. My first thought on the runway was a walking blood clot! It was such a heavy look, with that stiff fabric & the long sleeves. I don't know. I guess I expected more of everyone this week, given the inspiration, the budget, and the place to shop.

One last week! Fashion show collections & all the drama they bring. Then on to Season 11...with team challenges... Yuck But at least Tim will be there! Cool

I meant to add...

I kept trying to envision Josh's black lace top with a LARGE print floral fabric skirt -- like black line drawings of poppies on white, maybe a watercolor splash of red thru the flowers? If the scale of that floral print had been different, and if he had lost all but 2 or so colors in the flowers, it might have been amazing. I would never have paired those 2 fabrics, especially not this late in the game! Eek
