I will be buying an extension table for my Viking. Someone told me to buy the biggest I could afford. What do you think. Is it poss to get one that is too big.

    Just wondering

I'd have to agree that you should get the biggest you can--makes quilting easier. If you do not quilt big quilts on your machine, then you can probably go smaller. I own a viking and have an extension table that extends about 18 inches. I didn't know they came in other sizes!! You'll like having one!

The bigger one gives you a two-for-one.
You can use it as a lightbox for tracing patterns. Just stick a battery-powered fluorescent light under it. Works like a charm.

For most all of the machines you can get a custom cut out table by "Sew Steady". I think the biggest they make is 24x24. It's pretty big. I think I mostly sold 18x24 but it is a personal thing.

Hey Kim and others, I ordered one from her at the above web site. Call her the price is better than the other sites and those that have them from her rave about them. Call and tell her what machine you have I also have a Janome QC and she knows the models. She makes them and sends them out fed ex. Haven't gotten it yet and am waiting and very excited.

I also have a Janome Plat 760 and my DH got me a large extension table from ClutterGutter for x-mas this year. I love it - it is not clear, but sort of a bronze color. I'm also ready to try it out as a light table, as soon as I get some of those click on lights for under the table.

Hey, what's the deal? I ordered my table the week before Easter and haven't gotten anything yet. Now I'm worried as I check the mail every day and was told it was made and sent out but I never got it. I'll have to contact Colleen and find out what's the story.
