Could anyone please post a picture of rockin bobbin's incredible felt dolls from the Charlotte COF challenge? I was trying to describe them to my artist/friend/cousin & words arent sufficient, Thanks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: toryam,
I seem to recall seeing pictures somewhere. I checked mine and they are not included. Maybe somebody will come along, even Rockin, and will send them to you.
Okay: These characters are made with 100% wool batting (sort of looks like a giant cottonball), and the batt is then poked repeatedly with a barbed needle (like 20 hours repeatedly) until you form the desired shape.
First, I made the wool pig (Tilly), and then she thought she needed a man. So, here are Roy & Tilly Carolina:This message has been edited. Last edited by: RockinBobbin,
thimblelady - Yes, there is a difference. I'll try to explain....Wool batting (not like quilt batting) is more fluffy, like a cotton ball. You can pick it apart; the fibers are short. It is wonderfully easy to use. Roving is more "stringy" - the fibers are long. It needle punches okay - but not quite as well as the batt.
