I am using my HQ16 to quilt a quilt for someone in a group I belong to and am 1/2 way finished. I know I am 1/2 way finished because I am to where she seamed the backing together. Unfortunately I realized I loaded the backing TOP UP...Is there anything I can do besides unload the quilt, rip out ALL the stitching, reload and requilt it??? The backing is fleece, the quilting is hearts and feathers. I am just sick about this...

So you can see the seam of the fleece on the side that would be the back of the quilt, instead of inside the quilt? Does the fleece look the same on both sides? Sometimes it is difficult to tell the right side of the fleece. Would it be possible to un-seam the backing and re-sew the seam so that it will be inside the quilt?
That is the only thing that I can think of. I hate to think about ripping out all of that quilting. I know that it takes s-o-o-o-o-o much l-o-n-g-e-r to take it out than it took to stitch it.
Oh my gosh......how heartbreaking!! Is the fleece the same on both sides? Is there any way that the backing seam could be taken out and sewn again with the seam towards the batting? I don't know if this is possible.......just trying to think of a way without removing ALL of the quilting.

The seam allowance is on the outside of the quilt. Because the fleece is pretty much the same on both sides I didn't notice it before. I think I will try to unseam the sewing and redo it. I will have to rip out some of the quilting as I'd started the row but I didn't get too far into it and with it out I should be able to work with the backing and fix it. Oy vey. I thought I'd been careful to load it correctly. Apparently not. Thanks for your help and sympathy :/

Sorry to be the spoil sport but... fleece can look the same on both sides, but it still has a back and a front~ the back pills a bit more than the front. If your friend knows this~ she may have sewn it together to have the back inside. Call her and ask her~ everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure the two of you could figure out a good solution together.
well, I had some iced tea and cooled down. Then I had a glass of wine and a phone call from Quiltaholic and chilled out. I worked on my FQ challenge for COF retreat. Then this morning I ripped the seam apart - DH says I should change my board name to "the ripper" - turned it outside in and whip stitched it together. I'll go back and sew it one more time before I begin quilting again.
Yes, crazy, I know about the wrong and right side of fleece, but fortunately the lady who made the top apparently doesn't because she had it inside out!
I think all is well again...Thank you everyone!
