i wished i could have taken more pictures but it was hard because it was so crowded and people were in front of the quilts.

i also met up with KC (Kathy) and she and my sister and me walked the whole show. we went to lunch together and it was so nice to meet her, she is a doll and i can't believe i didn't take a picture with her (dumb me).the show was so big and sooo many people. by the time we were done my hip was crying for me to sit down.

Beautiful!
We're taking our shop employees down in a van Sunday. I'm so excited.
It's always a great show. I have a couple of friends who had pieces accepted, & several of my shop teachers are there taking classes already.

Love seeing photos from shows.
Amazing to see some of the quilts draping on the floor. I don't think I've ever seen that before.
Thanks for sharing with us.

I didn't take a camera so I am happy califgal took some pictures. The Best in Show quilt immediately strikes me as different since it is asymmetrical. You usually see these big winners as a large medallion in the center. Very rich colors. If you look at the "hanging" framework in the photos you can see that they are a consistent height, so I guess that the quilts are getting longer and there is no choice but to let them touch the floor.

This trip was more exhausting (getting old!) but we laughed our way through the day & I hope to do it again. I touched base with Fleur earlier in the morning. It was her second day there.

Now the countdown for next year...

Forgot to add...

Until you've gone to a show with your camera, and taken enough photos to share the Quilt Show experience, you've no idea how much effort's involved. I always need another day to really experience the quilts. Their texture and personality. So much of that doesn't come through when you are seeing them through your camera.
Then to get the photos out of the camera, edited, resized and posted!!!
Thanks so much califgal.Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Thanks Patsy for sharing - I sure wish I had been able to stay just one more day out in CA to see the show as it looks like it was fabulous!

I did meet up with Fleur55 and had a wonderful time meeting her. She took me out to lunch, the her favorite little hide away store and then her hubby took us to dinner. Hope to be able to come back soon!

Thanks for sharing your pictures, sounds like a good time. I worked there Wed. and it took everything out of me,guess age and out of shape matters, duhhhh, back pain and flared up the asthma. so i missed it this year. But did get to see the quilts while i was working and hanging them. There was some really fantastic ones.
