Saw this on another Blog...thought you might like it.
I love owls & pincushions so this is right up my alley. thanks!
We live in the home of the free...because of the brave.
I think that would bring a smile at any time.
This would be cute for Christmas ornaments and also to make some decorations for my GS's nursery.
I also think this would make a really cute pillow...I have this idea to make my daughter all these owl pillows....does anyone have any ideas on how I could turn this into a pillow.
I dont want it like a pin cushion more flatter.
I am learning Free patterns do not stay free so if you want it COPY it NOW
These are SUPER cute! I just copied the pattern.
Michelle, I would think you could put less stuffing in it to make a flatter pillow. Also, you could appliqué the owl onto a pillow size square of fabric the size of a pre-made pillow form. This is a really cute owl and would look good in a girls bedroom. I made my own pattern and stitched up a few small owls for my DGD a couple of years ago when she was a freshman in college. I called them "friendship" owls. She gave 2 of them to a couple of her friends.
Michelle...you could also put a gussett(sp) in . A Gussett is a strip(2.50 to 3.50 ") of fabric sewn all around the owl shape between the front and back pieces. It will make it the same depth for stuffing and pillow use.I would taper the gussett toward the top of the Owl so I could still fold it over to make the ears.Clear as mud I know....
